hi! its the second run without QC issues? or it has the same of the first?
Second run is without the major QC issues that the first run had.
The core robot doesn't really have any QC issues but just be careful with the trailer is all. The waist swivel can snap pretty easily if you're not careful.
It doesn't have the same problems, it has its own.
Fans Hobby MB-15 Naval Commander.

Man this somehow manages to be Armada Optimus minus all the things that made Armada Optimus cool.
And to hear it has QC issues just makes it all the more deflating. Luckily there's still the Energon Op but even that feels frustratingly off the mark.
IMO I think their version of Armada Prime in his Super mode is an improvement over the original but that core robot mode leaves a lot to be desired.
It's strange how Fanshobby is trying to make these Armada figures as stylized as possible yet figures like Archenemy aka RID Scourge are almost identical to the source material they're based off of. I mean I'm thankful their Armada figures even exist but I'm sure they would sell a lot more if they were less stylized. My guess is they're worried about getting sued so maybe that's why they've made their later figures so stylized, yet they're still selling their borderline anime accurate Scourge so who knows.
Well Scourge/G2 Optimus are the outliers.
Everything else has been stylized to some extent.
This guy is like the equivalent of what MP-10 was to G1 Optimus.
Aside from having actual articulated legs I really think the original toy looked cooler. They made all the proportions and angles more "pedestrian" if that makes sense? Armada Prime has such a dynamic and unique body type and Naval Commander just looks weak.
Doesn't help that I know Fanshobby figures can be poorly engineered (Power Baser and his redecoes/retools) so the quality issues don't surprise me, and it all makes me real jaded on this guy. I just feel like the "essence" was lost.
I mean it's still obviously Armada Prime to anyone who looks at it. I don't think legality factors into it, I think FH just don't have the best grasp on mecha design which is what both Armada and Energon Prime lean into for their details. Stuff like the faces being too round and tiny and lacking depth.
Their Monsterbots all look like the originals on steroids
Personally, I think the look works for them
The mad lads are actually doing it. They're actually sending me new super thighs and waste guards. Say what you will about he QC, I sure have, but their customer service is some of the best in the business and I made sure to let the Facebook manager in no uncertain terms just how satisfied I was with their performance.
They're doing what they can to make it right.
What a waist...
What a dyslexia.
Yeah that’s a hard disagree for me, man. Forget the leg articulation, Naval Commander’s legs pack a lot more heft in general, plus stronger angles in the shoulders and a less bulbously intrusive chest.
If he comes up short anywhere it’s the core Prime’s head. Doesn’t really have the angular umph of the original, but the super mode head nails it, whereas the original toy thins the antennae out so much they look like antlers.
so, is it actually possible to get one of these with no issues while transforming it normally, or is it kid gloves/ broken figure all the way? still really on the fence with this one, dont want to spend that much on something i cant enjoy transforming
I've transformed him back and forth in all 3 modes several times and didn't have any issues by the fault of the figure (I broke a piece by accident and Fans Hobby sent my a replacement part), so really you have to make sure it's the 2nd run of the figure to avoid the major issues (unless you're fine with waiting longer for replacement parts to come in from FH after).
Only issue is the waist but I haven't been the MOST gentle with mine and it's still in one piece. My only real breakage is something I fucked up alone and not even mission critical. Get a 2nd or even a soon-to-be-made 3rd run copy
I have version 1, and only thing that I had were the cracks on the cab. Which Fans Hobby sent replacement parts for.
Has there been anything about repaints for this guy? Armadas my jam, but I want something a little more accurate to the show for an 'MP' of prime, if they did this in the costco colours though...
they've been really good with recolors for their other stuff so I'm fairly certain they'll do repaints for this too once megatron is out
