It had worse materials then some MP KOs. Heck there's a chance the improved KO for it might have better materials.
Unlike NC it cracked because of the plastic used rather than stuff like slightly too large hinges. So I think the only way to get it fixed would be to buy a second run of him.

#OG2MP- vehicle mode size comparison. Bot-mode and super-mode size comparison to come (if no breakage).

Yeah, this is pretty bad though and I think it might cost FH a pretty penny to make it right. Hopefully everyone can get repairs and FH can still come out on top.

Takara skated by on hound by providing literally no service at all. A cheaper solution for sure, lmao.

Can't wait to get the second run of this guy, assuming they correct all of the issues.

I certainly wouldn't be lol'ing if that happened to me on a three-digit figure. Thank god NC sold out its first run before I got it.

Armada OP was my second Transformer as a kid and the first that I had any meaningful connection with from watching the show and reading the comics. I've always wanted an updated version, and I can't believe we finally have it! I even went about grabbing a new Armada OP and Bendy Prime to celebrate the occasion since my OG Prime had fallen into disrepair about 15 years ago. Luckily the electronics on the original still worked and the gold plastic hasn't broken on me *knock on wood* so I was able to get some decent comparison shots. As for Naval Commander, I do have the cracks that others have seen in the cab along with the hinges for the panel with the Matrix. Luckily, Kuma's post keyed me in to the sliding mechanism for the back panels, so I avoided that potential catastrophe. I was unable to get the screw out of the neck for the super mode without stripping it, but there is enough clearance to get to the screws in the head since those weren't nearly as problematic.

Because you skipped the multiple posts answering this.

This may be my favorite post ever here.

Here's my size comparison between the core bot and my Cybertron-edition Bendiums Prime, Earthrise Prime, and the core bot from Power Baser (who's pretty close to MP-10/MP-44 in size).

And here's the combined mode with Power Baser (also in combined mode).

I'm done for the night. Maybe tomorrow I'll try to document all the little cracks and stress marks on the core bot. Gonna have to eventually; while everything seems to be holding for now pretty much everything made of red plastic on his back needs replaced.

Any other requests? I have a lot of Primes I can compare him with.

What a disaster, I have no idea how FH is going to fix every single breakage issue on this thing without just sending out entire replacement figures, which they obviously can't do.

I'm surprised by how good he looks with all those G1 chonkers.

The main crack that everyone seems to have, and has led to a few outright breakages.

Cracks on both of these hinges are also common. And on mine.

A crack in white plastic. So it's not just the red.

Haven't really heard this one brought up. One side you can see a faint stress mark (shows up better in person than on camera). Other side has a hairline crack.

I've transformed the trailer to base mode and to pants mode, and the core bot from truck to robot to combined mode to robot to truck and back to robot so far, and like I said so far he's holding together and doesn't seem to be getting worse. But I almost feel like Fans Hobby is going to need to replace basically everything from the waist up.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the second batch gets delayed to the summer, and I think they might actually have to consider changing the factory they had Naval Commander made from to another as well as a precaution. Not saying it’s definitely that but it has been known to make a difference. Always the possibility of the new factory being even worse however..this is going to be expensive for FansHobby either way. I really wonder what they’ll come up with.

I hope they tell us what happened, unlike with Unicron's mouths I feel like there's an actual chance of that happening since this is a smaller company and way bigger problems.

I think that when they’ve had a good look and thought of a fix we’ll know more about why this happened, at least I’d hope so.

I'd say it's a combination of pins that are too big and plastic that's... like that...

Honestly the plastic on TF toys is getting progressively worse across the board as time goes on. Someone needs to make something oil-free to replace it.

I wonder that if the plastic wasn’t this fragile, would we even know if the pins were too large? They’d just come across as really stiff and then we’d all be praising it lol

I really doubt it, the plastic seems to be the biggest offender here. It kills me that the update to my first Prime that I've waited 19 years for ended up... like this.

That’s true, and I feel your pain having waited so long and to have this happen. I wouldn’t mind if it was more of a mileage may vary and if you take care they’re avoidable but unfortunately not the case..just hoping that both copies of mine are somewhat alright when they turn up today, and then my third is good too.
