This was the real money shot for me...


Gives me some real M.A.S.K. Shark and Gloria vibes; and that shark Porsche was something only customizers made a reality in toy form. Nice to see talented people making creative, ‘mass produced’ toys of this ilk.

Curious to know if anyone got it for the under $50 preorder price their website had during this year’s Black Friday sale, of if this was an item immediately tagged as sold out to avoid the seemingly sitewide discounts.

 

Excuse the bump, but I have a question about the preorder times for this lovely lady...

So I initially preordered at BBTS which has an estimate of May. That said, I'm beginning my transition from them to TCP, and so I thought I'd cancel BBTS's for theirs, but the date on TCP's says October after I confirmed. Any ideas why that is?

 

Yup, it was out of stock for the length of the sale.

I don't think anyone, probably including FH, has much of an idea when the actual release will be. It's all just guesses with varying levels of optimism.

 

She's still available direct for $48.90+shipping. I ordered last week and it came to around $56 shipped.

Oh, yeah, it's still a very nice pre-order deal. I had, very greedily, hoped to toss her in my monsterbot order and save that little bit of shipping, which is exactly what FH was preventing.

 

Because sometimes different places don't change their dates when updates come, or there's no actual date and people are just guessing.

TCP is generally average with their ACTUAL release dates - they're on par with other e-tailers like TFSource and BBTS. They're a smaller mom and pop place though and have a hinkier website than BBTS and TFSource. They also don't update/change/revamp their store info as frequently.

No worries man. Always happy to help. I'm starting to phase out of TF collecting, but 75% of my MP collection is 3P, so I can dig the confusion.

 

I mean she is kinda a repaint of Nightbeat.

 

That's what I meant by the robot existing before Minerva. I feel it's a detail we could certainly "correct" for today, but that's where a little customization can come in where needed.

 

Been reading this thread every now and then. Haven't picked up any Fans Hobby TFs, however this might be one worth getting.

$60 USD/$85 CND sounds reasonable to me and I'm willing to take a chance on it.

 

I'm curious to see how they handle smaller figures. But I can tell you that pretty much everything else they've done is pretty good. I mean, if you're expecting something with a ton of diecast and premium paint like Fans Toys you might be disappointed, but if you like a solid, chunky robot with straightforward engineering that's just fun to mess around with then Fans Hobby is a good time.

I feel there’s something missing and unfinished about it. Maybe the lack of paint or details.

 

Yeah, I think it will look better once her alt mode has the red cross and stripes to break up all that white. Like are we sure that's the actual white they're going with, or is it just bare plastic? And FH loves their tampos, so I also presume there will be some on the red parts of her bot mode.

Looks cool. I'm eventually hoping we'll see pics of how the car mode looks next to like the various MP carbots or Stunticons. I can't tell if her alt mode scales with the MP carbots, or closer to DX9's Stunticons.
