This guy is super fun! I don't think I transformed the power baser 100% right because the piece that closes on the side of the chest isn't sitting flush, but still really neat.

 

The fold in part you’re talking about. It’s a funny one. If you don’t plan on adding god bomber, you can leave it out and flush. There is even a cutout on the super bot flank so it sits fine. But when adding god bomber it needs to be tucked in or the chest won’t fit over it.

You have to get the legs and pelvis in near perfect 90 degree angles, but then it works fine.

the hardest part for me was not having the arms unlock and move while transforming the cab for combined mode. Take your time and it will work, but you have to slow down to get everything in place properly.



Have I posted that I got the Black version and Apex Armor a couple weeks ago? This figure is fantastic. Loads of fun. Mine works really well -Everything seems to work better than what Youtube has implied. My plates that connect on top (below the head) even connect perfectly.


My only complaints are no place to store the rifles in Power Baser mode, the head in trailer mode is a tad to close and impedes the truck’s turning a bit, and lack of upward toe tilt in cab-bot mode. I guess I could say the unfinished looking abdomen of the cab-bot, but I knew was I was getting… and the black tends to hide/mask imperfections. Also no place to store the rifle barrel when in “pistol” mode… but Gee I feel like Im nitpicking.

Overall, I really love the piece(s). Hell, I even like the base mode with a couple aesthetic choices.

Im very happy with my purchase and Im glad I finally jumped on board.

 

This still really annoys e on every version of this mould.

I'm not sure why the feet weren't designed to just have a tiny bit more space between them for the armature to pass through, rather than bending the plastic around the feet.

It's also pretty annoying how the panels on the backs of the legs have to be forced past the smokestacks.

Not really.

 

With difficulty. Like has been said, you need the pelvis to be at 90 degrees. The square shaped hole at the bottom has a place to plug into the combiner body. Then you have to manage to get the head stem through the feet which pretty much means forcing it, and you need to get those red panels past the smokestacks even though there clearly isn't room to do it. Just kinda have to force it while trying not to put stress on the smokestacks.

 

I ended up taking the armature off the combined mode head and just partsforming it between modes. I also carved out channels for the leg panels to go over the smokestacks without issue.

It is strange and confusing why Fanshobby designed this the way they did. There’s no reason things had to be so close and so particular.

 

Big pain killers

 

the short version is "the first version of power baser came out in 2016 and was much more complicated than anything they'd done to that point"

their more recent stuff is much, much easier to transform

p.s. Last time I was on morphine, after I had my wisdom teeth out, I was apparently trying to persuade nurses to go 'disco dancing' with me, with my girlfriend present and very amused by it all.
