I love Fans Hobby. LOVE them. Their figures with faceplates are all amazing, their build is great for the most part, and they're just damn fun. But most of the figures with sculpted faces just look like they're chiseled out of stone; shitty, frankly. Armada Megatron is particularly bad here, otherwise a near-perfect figure, but the cherry on top is rotten. Would you like to see Fans Hobby improve their head sculpts? I'm interested to see if more people would jump on the Fans Hobby train if their sculpt was on the same level as say, FT or MMC (or even XTB) because I do love Fans Hobby, just skip a huge portion of their figures because the face looks like plastic surgery gone wrong.

 

Eh, sometimes they hit, others they don't. I don't mind the FH megatron sculpt nearly as much as some other people and Naval Commander's head sculpt is the best the character has ever looked.

 

Well there is always room for improvement.

That said they have a few that are fantastic, like I love Ground Commander/Naval Commander/Scourge.

However they also have a few missis that are just bad like Mega-tyrano, Jet Fire, and a few others.

 

As I said, the faceplates are top notch. I'm talking about the ones with humanoid faces. Will say getrightrobot's sculpts on their convention exclusives (Wingman especially) are extra great, maybe they could get them to do all of their headsculpts?

 

Absolutely.

Will they ever improve? Probably not.

 

The faces are absolutely my only issue with FH figures. They all look a bit too much like a simplified pixie. You can see the FansProject in them.

 

I’ve never liked the Fanshobby faces. A bit too angular maybe?

 

The only times I ever thought they did good head sculpts on regular releases were their combined Machine Eagle and Navel Commander. Almost all their other face sculpts were disappointing, especially Armada Megatron. It's one of those areas where they really need work.
Their exclusives tend to look better, but that's because it's handled by an outsider.

 

There's no shame with bringing in outsiders either.

It's like how Makotron does most of MMC's head designs.

 

As much as I like Fans Hobby, their face sculpts are one of their weak points. None of them are Tesla 1.0 awful, but they're pretty poor as a whole.

 

Find most of the third parties struggle with head sculpts tbh. Not just fanshobby.

 

Honestly, I never thought they looked that bad. They might not hold up if I compared them to the show/movie models, though.
