What is their team name anyway? Do they even have one?
I see three trios of color---all had a "neutral" accent. Where's the white on Victorion? Based on the palette, there should be just as much white as there is red.
(I voted A, as it was the only one guaranteed to not clash horribly if Hasbro made some poor color-layout decisions)
In fairness, the poll makes it look like the primary colour would be teal, with red and solver accents. Not red and teal in equal measures, with minimal silver mostly on the weapon. I think if there were more silver (i.e. on the upper legs, on the forearms, etc) that would break a lot of it up.
I've heard them called "Torchbearers"
They don't release the info, but at the time I was pretty sure B had a lead. Orange is popular.
Okay, my thoughts...
She looks interesting. She reminds me of Vehicle Voltron, with the robot that turns into a chestplate: awesome but perhaps unneccessary.
I like the symmetry they have going on: two cars for her arms, two copters for her feet. Traditionally the copters would have been her arms and the cars the feet, but this change makes the design more interesting and appealing.
I also like that all the individual weapons are combined to form Victorion's sword. A very nice touch there.
The only thing I dislike is her color scheme. I don't know what color this combiner should be, but the blue doesn't work out so well with the red. It needs to be a softer or darker tone.
Now I just need to see Victorion's characters to fully judge her.
Still,What is up with the Fan-voted characters all seemed to be Fembots with some hint of red? That is an odd coincidence if i ever saw one.
Its the color red and human psychology, even if the male choice won, the choice with red would have been chosen.
They're the Torchbearers.
Well,it's not like they planned that we'd chosen that.
yep, still nauseated over this.
I take the hatred of the colors as great news for me. So if they are sold on Hasbrotoyshop later I will be one of the only takers
Damn I've been crapping all over this idea and its execution based on the in case pictures, the use of molds that are being absolutely beaten into the dust, and a general feeling that fembots were being forced down our throats by...well...other fans, but damned if this didn't turn out pretty well for what it is. Especially if the colors do in fact look much better in person.
I still think Hasbro could (and should) make a small fortune by casting those new hand and foot parts into colors to match Superion, Menasor, and Defensor and selling those as a pack...kind of like the weapons packs GI Joe used to have in the 80's.
Maybe this year won't be so light on the wallet after all.
Let's face it: Most people are going to end up buying it.
yeah just like windblade, if most isnt getting the hasbro version they will get the takara version...
I'm toying with whether to do a little custom work when they come out, I think they could do with some silver on their thighs/forearms, but I'll wait and see what they look like in hand before getting the paint brushes out.
Either way I'm really looking forward to the Torchbearers. Victorion looks rad and I flipping love that beast of a combined sword.
I am pretty sure Takara is not going to do a version of Victorion because if they did do that it would have come out before Hasbro's version
I am hoping the colors will improve on release. Fingers crossed.
Story of out lives, we see people moan & groan and then the product sells anyways.
Based on what precedent?
While I don't have a big problem with the colors, a Reprolabels set with a bunch of silver accents/coverups would knock this thing up a few pegs.
I'm in the same boat. Just a little bit of silver maybe in places where the blue meets the orange would help make it look a little less drastic. Because there's a lot of interesting detail in the new bits they molded that are lost in current image.
But assembled, Victorion looks incredible. Surprised the default config appears to be the cars as arms as her debut images in USA Today were using the helicopters. Personally have felt the Aerialbots make better arms than legs (and vice versa for cars)
