The “Well figures of these designs already exist” talking point is ridiculous. By that logic, we shouldn’t get anymore G1 updates at all because MULTIPLE figures of those characters/designs exist. It’s weird that this talking point is only brought up when people commit the sin of asking for more (faithful) non-G1 figures and not for the fans asking for yet another figure of G1 Prime because the ER version was missing some minute details from frame 2,485 from the G1 movie.

I love the skull face on SG Magnus, but I really dislike the overall mold, especially in alt mode. Rather disappointing, and will probably not wind up in my SG collection.

I am thinking of getting Motormaster, even though I don\'t care about getting the rest of the Stunticons. I actually kind of like the skeleton of Menasor built from him and his trailer. Might be fine for my play, especially since I\'ve never been a huge fan of combiners beyond Devastator. I wish Knockout had a smirk on his face, but I\'m getting him either way. Not sure if I\'m going to get Elita-One or not. I have her Siege version and hate the overall backpack mold, but the vehicle mode of the Legacy version is one ugly freaking car.

The MPG figures are basically the answer to this. They're not in MP scale (and are VERY expensive), but they're passable enough to be considered (highly engineered) CHUG figures. Raiden will fit in quite nicely.

If there were to be a properly done Legacy Raiden, it would probably be a Haslab Project. A demand is out there, for certain, but the Trainbots are Japan-only characters. It's not like Minerva who could be passed off as an exclusive and retooled pretty easily from Elita-1. Retooling six trains that combine would be the retooling project of a generation.

Legacy just recently hit retail, we're not at the point where they toys could be shelfwarming. I have yet to even been able to find anything outside of voyagers in North Texas. its way to early to say these toys are failing. I know personally I really like Bulkhead and I am very glad to finally get to add Bulkhead into my Generations Collections.

WFC and SS are not the same, they do not have the same design philosophies. There is a lot of crossover between the two lines only now because of SS86, but when you look at Seige there was no attempt to make them as accurate as the source material. Generations has had a pretty standard design philosophy since Classics in 2006. Modern updates of classic characters that all fit in a similar style. This is why toys like Universe 2.0 Sunstreaker can still fit in with Kingdom Tracks for example. The only times where this didn't really mesh was during the Fall of Cybertron toyline and Siege. Legacy is still fully in line with this design philosophy of Classics/Generations.

Its why you can put Legacy Bulkhead with Reveal the Shield Lugnut and they look fantastic together.

Its nice to get to add characters like Knockout and Bulkhead to my generations collection, its great. Hopefully down the line we can get proper updates for those who want it, but honestly the previous toyline was already good, i'm fine with generation styled versions of these characters.

I don't wanna pay those prices, so I'll just hope that we somehow get a Raiden from mainline.

SG Magnus having two heads completely saves that figure for me so I can't complain about it being compromised anymore. Hopefully this doesn't preclude a more proper SG Magnus but at least this is still a win/win on it's own.
As much as I don't care for Menasor's Sunbow look he's a combiner and unexpectedly this one's looking more and more fun. It's basically Motormaster with a super mode that gets more supermoded and I'm all for it; the trailer gives off Laser Optimus vibes which makes it even better. Definitely all in for that.
The only thing I find odd or maybe not so much is how they clearly couldn't decide whether to make the shoulder stumps toy or show accurate so they did a halfway of the two. Which is funny because CW Menasor kinda did both but clearly show accurate stumps first and foremost with just lines for the toy based vent look.
    Soundwave is an utter disappointment.
Knockout looks like he may as well be Jazz.
I'm not sure how to feel about Elita; I guess it seems like she will be a pretool to Minerva but either way she strangely looks like....Chromedome to me and strangely reminds me of TR Arcee. It's making me consider getting the Arcee retool afterall because that looks more like Elita than this does.
    Tarantulus looks absolutely perfect.
Jhiaxus looks pretty good; I'm not sure if I see the alleged mold sharing with Armada Starscream in it but for now Jhiaxus is stands well on his own.

Agree with Soundwave, was looking forward to Prime Soundwave. Tarantulas looks good (not getting him) and, for my opinion on Knockout, I have the 86 Jazz figure (no issues yet) and yep, I can see the similarities. But it looks different enough, in my opinion.

Speaking from my NYC market (and the DC area I've been visiting this week), Bulkhead and Arcee are a plenty. I feel like two very high-traffic US markets are a good sample size to judge for what will happen once Legacy Wave 1 saturates a bit. Furthermore, Bulkhead and Arcee haven't bene

Siege (for the most part) wasn't attempting to be G1 cartoon accurate. This was sort of a "what-if" part of the trilogy focusing on events that occurred prior to MTMTE Part 1. As of the latter Siege waves, where figures intended for Earthrise began bleeding in because Siege sold so well, the cartoon-accurate-as-possible maxim was at play. This continued throughout Earthrise, Kingdom, and now Legacy."

I hard (respectfully) disagree here. There are three distinct CHUG eras, at least from how I see things:

    CHUG 1.0, 2006 - 2014 (Classics, Universe 2.0, HFTD/RTS, Generations 1.0, Thrilling 30). The 2010 WFC and 2012 FOC sublines I suppose you could consider outliers here.
CHUG 2.0, 2015-2018 (aka Prime Wars, quality really took a BIG L here)
    CHUG 3.0, late 2018 - present (aka WFC/SS86/Legacy)

Honestly I kind of like that they went hard in the exact opposite direction for SG Magnus. From the sleek sword wielding body to a giant chonky bruiser. Probably why having the OG SG head on the Kingdom body throws it off a bit for me.

I can picture a Leader Class Thunderwing that leverages elements of the Jhiaxus mold and includes the bonus drone guy that turns in to a smaller bot. If you look at the Jhiaxus alt mode, he's got a pretty "hollow" nose section and a 5mm port right at the tip where the drone could plug in.

Just to quickly touch on the Prime figures: I do hope that one day we will get re-releases of the FE figures, but then some characters like Ratchet and then Knock Out for example, I believe they should get new toys altogether. I thought the PRID toys were a bit hit-or-miss and just didn't turn out as well as they could have. However, that doesn't mean I have a problem with Hasbro taking those characters and G1-ifing them to fit with the rest of the figures they release. Even though I'm not getting them myself, I think it's a pretty cool idea. If they brought back Alternators, and took characters from Prime to put in that toyline, honestly I would probably eat that up like it's cake. I guess I just don't fully understand why these new toys for Prime characters are being bashed, aside from not being animation accurate. Is it that they were styled like G1, and not another continuity? Is that being perceived as being repetitive?

Look if you want to feel slighted by Hasbro with the manner they’ve designed these versions of Prime characters have at it.

I think all three figures are just as good as anything else in Legacy or even better. I get that this might not fit what some fans are looking for but the constant complaints that the figures are inferior is just complaining for the sake of complaining.

These three figures don’t resemble any G1 characters but look great and I’ll be adding them to my collection.
