I mean, Cyberverse had it's moments, certainly
but alot of it I personally just couldn't stomach.
Primarily the show's humour. I know comedy is
a subjective matter, everyone's POV on it varies,
and that's fine if someone else chuckled at the lines.
I couldn't. To me, Animated will always be the superior
"lighthearted" TF cartoon. It did a much better job balancing it's comedy & drama. Was the AllSpark still a factor throughout? Yes it was, but I'll give the creators credit for utilizing the shards as a method for introducing new characters & for putting a neat new spin on the whole undead Starscream concept.

The problem with some of the later lines is the figures aren't going to be that much of an improvement, if it all. If you want the Prime figures, they already exist. They're already fully articulated. Even Beast Wars had this problem to a certain degree which is why they took the animation/realistic beast approach - it gave a new angle. Same with Studio Series for the movie crap.

I like what they've done here with the Prime designs because frankly, a lot of them sucked. Much like the movie they were often just a mess of parts not doing anything interesting but piling up or giving awkward proportions. They look much better here. And again if you like the old designs, they are out there. Several of the main cast got more than one figure to boot. To expect them just to do Prime figures again seems pretty stupid to me.

There's also the issue of popularity. The newer stuff just hasn't been that good and it doesn't have the legacy. That's pretty obvious if you look around and look at what moves like greased lightning and what doesn't. Those Prime reissue packs were not hot sellers and Armada stuff hasn't done very well either.

Animated had it's moments, but it had it's failings too. It rarely altered the status quo (almost to the same detriment as Prime), especially in regards to Bumblebee and Sentinel Prime both never learning to lessen their own egos no matter how many times the show taught them that lesson.

Overall I feel it was a great livestream and outside of the siege soundwave repack I'm very excited for these figures

Jhiaxus is perfect. Trantulus is perfect, Motormaster is such a nice figure.

Regarding the Prime updates, I am glad they are more generations style than being accurate to prime. It allows me to add characters like bulkhead and Knockout to my generations shelves like we were able to do with Lugnut back in Reveal the Shield days.

SG Magnus i am really excited for and bought two. I cannot wait to add Powered Convoy to my shelf.

Actually I'm glad Sentinel never "learned his lesson." Narcissists like him cannot. Plus, it was refreshing to have a show which didn't always place the "heroic" faction in the most flattering light. Project Omega for example is a morally question act, one Magnus & other high ranking Autobot officers clearly didn't lose any sleep over. At least, that we're aware. Nowadays it's rare to see Hasbro breakaway from the struggling heroic Autobot rebel underdog narrative. Showcasing how not every member of their ranks is, deep down, a pure of heart goody two shoes. That's why I loved Getaway in MTMTE so much. James Roberts pulled no punches in letting you know what an absolute bastard he was.

No they're not. They're either retools of existing G1 figures, or more than likely pretools of other G1-related figures coming down the pike. They're boring at best; lazy at worst. Especially since WFC/Studio Series established a precedent that main line figures were going for an accurate-as-possible look to the source material. Now, all of a sudden, there is a massive sea change in Legacy that leave a lot of non-G1 fans like myself feeling bamboozled and slighted.

Don't believe me? If your local retailers are like mine, Bulkhead and Arcee are shelfwarming already. Even the Core Class figures are selling like hotcakes compared to those two. I doubt it's because "non-G1 characters don't sell." Terrorsaur was snagged up quickly. Airrazor and Rhinox were hard to come by until their Wave 5 repacks. Dinobot (for me anyways) was scarce. Even BW Megatron was hard to spot on shelves until right before the holidays, where it seems like entire cases of them were shipped to every Target I've been to since November 2021.

People can preach that G1-ified versions of non-G1 characters are what they want, but sales don't lie. The inventory that flies off the shelves vs what remains on them speaks for itself.

There is absolutely a double standard. G1 and Movieverse fans are catered to with accurate figures. I'm genuinely happy for them and that accurate figures of those characters exist. We non-G1 and movie fans would like the same courtesy extended to us rather than these retools Hasbro crapped out.

Are these "Prime Universe" (lol) figures bad in terms of construction or materials quality? No. That's not what we're saying, at all. We're not expecting 100% accuracy. Even SS86 figures aren't 100% accurate. That's what the MP line is for. But we are expecting an honest attempt with some slight modernization.

Arcee and Knock Out at least have vehicle modes that are close enough to their screen models. Bulkhead? Other than the headsculpt, mace, and being green, there's nothing about the figure that resembles Animated or Prime Bulkhead in the slightest. The body type is way off. The vehicle mode isn't a rescue vehicle nor an offroad 4x4. That screams pretool to me, much like how TR Sentinel Prime was just Astrotrain...but...you know...orange.

I'm the exact opposite. I know I'm not alone. Maybe not on TFW2005, but there are other pockets of the Transformers community (instagram, TFormers, Seibertron) that may think differently. And we're met with rhetoric that, in summation, is basically: "Suck it. Pay your dues with GeeWunned designs because we ______ continuity fans had to put up with it too." Maybe it's because those non-accurate designs of BW characters are approaching, if not well over, a decade old at this point? You do realize 10 years is an eternity in terms of engineering feats, yes?

I think it's just more evidence that Hasbro is sticking to G1 purism as much as possible, and shoehorning non-G1 characters into that look regardless of whether fans want it or not. Movieverse, Kingdom BW, WFC G1, and RID2001 figures coexist regularly in my collection. Doesn't bother me one iota that the styles look different and are a "hodgepodge of design styles thrown together." I enjoy the differences, and think having a unified look is boring, lame, and an insult to fans who prefer BW, Prime, UT, or whatever other non-G1 style exists.

On the contrary, I think not being able to group Transformers of different styles together shows a lack of imagination.

I actually liked the fact that BB and Sentinel never really learned their lesson about putting aside their ego. It would be one thing if every character didn't grow throughout the show but it is realistic that some people never learn from their mistakes, no matter how many times they repeat them.

For Combaticons, I feel like they'd have to be voyagers. Blast Off is a space shuttle, and thats not exactly a tiny vehicle. They could get away with it I think. Swindle is the only one who I feel like is not voyager sized in alt mode.

So, what I've noticed... Is that Jhiaxus has Opening hands while Motormaster doesn't.

Mmm... Big deluxes at most. Vehicle scale isn't really an issue. It gets screwed up so much that it's not a priority at all.

Fair, big deluxes for the limbs and commander Onslaught. I think if we continue with the frame system (god forbid) Onslaught could have extra weapon storage trailer things.

Hasbro seems to have a scale in mind now based on their bot modes, I can't see the combaticons breaking ranks and all landing larger figures.

The Stunticons are a must-buy for me now that the Menasor from CW is going to be obsolete knowing the abysmal build and stability.

Jihaxus is must buy too. Been wanting another comic exclusive villain that wasn't a repaint of another figure.

Knock-Out is a bit bare on the shoulders, but I like how good his head is. Not the RED one, but for a Transformer, it's good.

Definitely getting Tarantulas. Not as a Beast Wars thing, but someone to go with Overlord and Springer for my eventual IDW lineup shelf.

Prime needs an Elita, and she's perfect.

    Soo going to nab Blitzwing!
