From what it looks like, RED is basically Hasbro's attempt to market a Revoltech-esque line at a less offensive price point.

Kinda cool, though sucks that the Megatron and Soundwave orders are already sold out. Still, I just bought an Amazing Yamaguchi Optimus on eBay yesterday, so I'll at least have that.

We thought Action Masters were so dumb years ago and now we want them again.

Next: Pretenders! With brick-like shells!

 

Pre-orders selling out wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't a walmart exclusive. I wonder what international vendors might get this?


But yeah, at this rate they pretty much have power masters and pretenders left of major G1 gimmicks. Who knows, maybe they'll do some of those 90's colour changers and propeller launchers...

 

That's not Rotorstorm. I wouldn't buy that from the Club and even at way cheaper I'm still not buying it from Hasbro. Despite the tons of paint, this is BAD HASBRO that seems to go away and then always comes back. It doesn't work with that head or transformation scheme and it never will. If he had a new head, I probably could have been swayed. And no, I'm not buying him and spending another $10 or more on a 3rd party head that I have to take the time to install. That's not a good deal.

Tigertrack is fine, not exciting, but fine. Nice that he has the full accessories.

Don't care about RED, Alternate Universe Op, or G1 Blaster (I have two Blasters and two Twincasts already).

The Centurion drone I would have probably passed on as well, but the accessory pack is worth it in my opinion. However, they need to paint Reflector and Shockwave - without paint the design is pointless in those cases. It doesn't need tons of paint detail, what they did for Megatron and Soundwave works. Same goes for the mini Optimus - in plain gray plastic it's pointless to me. I have no idea why the mini Megatron gets paint before the Mini Shockwave considering at least Megatron is gray. Whatever!

Sounds like there are more exciting things on the horizon. I would love a reissue of something Japanese we never saw coming.

The BBTS page says something about the head sculpt though so fingers crossed this is pre-production stuff...

Probably been discussed but I’m confused by Rotorstorm? The official statement specifically says he has a “head sculpt” to resemble the original character, but these pics just have Spinisters head? It the statement from an earlier version before they cheaper out or are the official pics wrong?

 

Any idea when the rest of the Red Series figures will go up for preorder. I'm sending this link to a friend and hoping she can help me with it.

 

I'm hoping for a situation like with TR Rumble where the renders had Rewind's head but the toy turned out different. The guy in the livestream holding an identical physical copy diminishes that hope unfortunately.

 

Is it really that bad ? And im not even talking about spending an extra $10. Is popping off a stock head and snapping on a new one really that cumbersome that you complain about "taking time to install" ? I bet in the time it took you to right that paragraph, I could install the new head. The body is by no means the perfect Rotorstorm, but I think when it comes to any post 1988 character, youre lucky to get a repaint. I have no problem spending an extra $20 if Renderform gives this guy a new head and G1 guns.

Speaking of leaks, with Thrust and Dirge revealed, we're guaranteed to get all three Coneheads.

Mighty tempted to sell my United Seekers now because I am so in love with the Earthrise mold...and just you wait, we'll probably get some obscure Seekers (like Sunstorm) as Generations Selects now.

Also really hope we get Diaclone Trailbreaker...hell, bring on Clamp Down and Deep Cover from Sideswipe and, if we get an Earth mode Magnus, Diaclone/Delta Magnus.

 

Where do live where someone would sell you all those accessories for just $15? All this is going to set you back at least $40, not including the shipping cost. And in all honesty, how badly do you need EVERYTHING in this set?

 

The Blaster reissue is $29.99 on the Walmart site. I wasn’t going to get one, but that price is so cheap. I can’t find a good vintage Blaster with his gun for less than $75. I also managed to snag an RED Optimus, but no Megs or SW. I wonder if they’re already sold out or if they haven’t been made available yet. Hmmm
