I think they did a really great job on the junkion mold but I've never liked the junkions so it may be the only SS86 mold I skip. I'm getting impatient for the rest of the Dinobots, both revealed releases look amazing. The sharkticon mold is not perfect but I may buy more than one which I normally don't do, just so the Dinobots have something to step on. I find it very interesting that Hasui is essentially continuing his version of the MP line in the CHUG line. I keep wondering how many of these CHUG designs were originally MP sketches. It looks to me like the Bayverse is being pushed aside for the BB movie stuff and the next movie, which makes sense I guess. I'm really curious to see what the next MPM release is after the new Bee this year. I was really hoping they would complete the Movie 1 cast in MPM but I'm wondering if they're done with Movie 1 and moving on to the BB movie or whatever is next.
In addition there will be a croudfunded "Ultra Wheelie" which will be a Unicron-Sized upscale retool of siege Ultra Magnus for $599. If it isn't successfully funded transformers will be canceled.
To accommodate the budget it took to add those features it will be bumped up to a commander class figure, at the new price of $99.99!
Ah yes, DOTM, while my personal favorite bayverse movie, it was widely considered one of 4 completely and totally dogshit levels of horrid to everyone that isnt a transformers fan. They likely don't care about DOTM that much, because yes, it made money, but was widely considered a terrible film.
pretty disappointing # of reveals, really surprised they didn't touch on the Bayverse ROTF wave, but I enjoyed most of what they have reveal. But respect to the bayverse fans, I'd be feeling pretty salty if I was them right now. Sluag we don't really need to talk about, he's been discussed to death. still can't believe they didn't add a dab of the light blue paint from his shins to Daniel's visor. Like Wheelie, woulda been preferable to have been a transformable core class figure and included his sword instead. Gnaw looks absolutely fantastic, but also looks nothing like a $23 figure. for $14.99/17.99 I'd have army built the crap out of him (not that I expect to ever see him at retail like I never saw Allicon) but yeah, almost 1/4 of $100 is way to much for a sub-deluxe. I'll probably preorder 1 to lead my 2 Legends-scale sharkticon variants Wreckgar looks pretty phenomenal. Cannot wait to have him and another Junkion for him to ride. SG Starscream. Intense dislike of both Shattered Glass and the Seige Seeker mold aside, that deco looks particularly weird on that mold, since it doesn't "flow" very well with the overly-greebled surface detailing. the colors actually look really nice, its more that the design should have worked with with the mold more instead of fighting against the overall shapes of it. It feels to me like they took the paint mask meant for the Cybertron Seeker mold that SG Starscream originated from and just slapped it on here without a lot of care or thought....
I was really happy with the reveals. So far I'm going completionist on SS86! And I want a t-shirt of that Gnaw box art now!
The trailer is exactly the same though, after all, we don't want to have to make him a titan class release do we? But don't worry, he can flip you off now with his individual fingers!
If people have issue with the reveals then they should have a go at the leakers before anyone else. Awesome to see Gnaw! glad I didn't go all in on the TR figure. SG Starscream looks pretty hot, I don't like SG but I do like that mold, need to see about getting some stickers for those red Decepticon Symbols.
you want to know another movie that’s celebrating it’s 10th anniversary? Dark of the moon, which is the highest grossing tf movie so far. I can guarantee you there won’t be anything for that. The majority of every toy line with the exception of show focused ones (I.e. animated, prime, cyberverse, Netflix WFC etc) is just “G1 but *insert some unique design aesthetic here*”. It’s either modern G1, space G1, literal G1, combining G1, head master G1, etc etc. As our lord and savior Thew once said, “G1 never left.”
SG Starscream is Pulse-exclusive (like the rest of the SG line). Everything else shown today is a regular retail release.
