The guy having a rant today is possibly the unsaid reason Hasbro hasn’t stopped all the leaked copies floating around since the Armada days(wow it’s been almost 20 years now): Unofficial advertising that they don’t pay for presented in a sometimes more professional manner on readily available services like YouTube, well ahead of official previews.
To give my thoughts: Really happy with the reveals we did get but am disappointed that there was no live action stuff revealed, mainly because we have had the leaked listing for Grindor, Bee and Jolt for a while now plus with the leaked image of Grindor's arm and Ravage. In another note, in the image of Gnaw at the end, is that Megatron's shoulder cannon? If so could this mean a ss86 re-release of siege Megatron with the blaster/ shoulder cannon that camme with siege Soundwave?
Call what out? It was a 30 min event. DOn't compare TFs to Marvel. Marvel is a way bigger department with way more going on. The MCU stuff alone Shadows TF releases and then you still need to consider the comic releases. The big reveals everyone wants come at Pulse Con (SDCC) and Fans First (NYTF) ( the event not the fridays)
Okay, so basically Cyber Battalion Shockwave with actual knee joints? Eh, okay. I'm actually pretty happy with my Masterpiece and Siege. Unless this version actually transforms into a laser gun, it's a hard pass for me. WTF is Sleep Paralysis Demon Arcee? Ravage separate from Soundwave? Are we talking that pre-Cybertronian version in the BB movie? I think I'm one of the few who is content with the PotP figures. Cod slammed piece of a fish! I was really hoping Motormaster would simply replace the Combiner Wars version and be compatible with those limbs. Not super interested in buying Scramble City AGAIN.
The biggest news to me was the 4K release of TFTM! Holy cats! That's exciting. I'm kinda bummed that it seems like the steelbook is for the Blu only, not the 4k release. At least that's how it seemed. I don't need another Blu Ray of this flick, I've still got the Shout steel, and it's great. At any rate, whatever kind of case they stick the UHD in, I'll be all over that 4K release. Otherwise, I am mostly a G1 (with a little IDW sprinkled in) guy, with TFTM being my focus, so I'm all over all of this stuff, and will be preordering all of them. Wreck-Gar is the most impressive, by far. I don't do Bayverse, so no great loss for me, but I can certainly understand that there are a lot of fans of that stuff, and it would be nice to see some variety in the line, for sure. Hope you all get what you want in the next reveals. You deserve a win, and my wallet deserves a break!
that it was only g1 stuff from a line that started out as movie stuff we know jolt and grindor are coming, so why not just show them, thats what ss used to be about: actual movie stuff and not another excuse to make more g1 figs
I hope most of you didn't give up a day of work for ......that. 4 Only 4 2 we had seen already. A few exclusives would have been nice. TARGET 4 - PACK. TERRORSAUR The other SS wave mates. JOLT GRINDOR Instead we get told the movie is being releasd. Again. You have exclusives that need to be promoted before they actually come out. And you drop the ball. Again. Was there a point to this at all. Next time, just release the pics with out all the fanfare. Hopefully we'll get some more news soon. Maybe next time, the figs will show up.
I don’t think the majority of people who intend to buy him will leave in robot mode for such a long time.
This wasn't a "free event." It was a reveal. Which is something that has to happen for toys. Do you expect companies to say "here, we'll reveal our new products but you have to pay to see them" and Hasbro revealing their products for free is some wonderful gift?
MY GOD JOLT AND GRINDOR WERE LEAKED LIKE YEAR AGO AND STILL NO REVEAL. They obviously just don’t give a single fuck about bayverse fans anymore. They also spent like the first ten minutes talking about some art work for disc set their trying to advertise. The bald guy pis$es me off.
That was a total snooze fest. Zero variety in the mere four toys we got to see. They just can't seem to help themselves from dragging us along instead of making streams that are actually worth anybody's time. An steelbook or whatever that was? Seriously? Of these Gnaw looks the most interesting (although I might just get a toy of Wreck Gar just to pay some tribute to @wreckgar39.) Gnaw is kind of intimidating compared to the frankly adorable TR version. Maybe this one will be the big boss of the TR ones I have, or those two are Megatron's domesticated versions and this is the Quintesson real deal. I'm not even fussed about Bay toys (although they should have been shown) but we have beasts to reveal too. Guys they're crossing over with G1. They could have fit them in here easily. Or how about another exclusive? There's like three shrouded in mystery already listed and one other that is already on YouTube.
I don't understand what Hasbro's team is doing this year. I really don't. The alienation of some fans, while celebrating others is just adding to the division and strife. I get that they have a small window to work with in some cases, but this wasn't handled very well. Wreck-Gar's transformation is ridiculously simple. And that's a good thing. Neither mode sacrifices a lot to accommodate a weird transformation. Sometimes, simplicity is best. I'm a Smooth Jazz guy, so no, but I am a dad and those kinds of jokes are just my style.
Man I'm just blown away by Gnaw, He looks way better than he should. Love the big gun....yeah why it has it I don't know, but it looks great.
