So am I making this out right? I seem to see that Scavenger\'s top wheel is split in two vertically and bends to the sides to be hidden under the main but empty bulk of the excavator\'s housing. While the lower wheel is made by combining and bending the two treads together? This is why it is less \"edged\" and more flat than the top wheel, and why it will likely be able to stand without a need to use his arms for balancing.
Oh forgot to mention Zetar and Nightbird. Nightbird is a disappointment, I hoped for new weapons. The Takara Legends I have is better. But dammit, that color scheme in car mode is just gorgeous. You had me at purple tinted windows, Hasbro.
Zetar I guessed right would have a removable head - that has to be new tooling as Brunt\'s does not come off, and it attaches to the front peg as a drill. That head mold is great, and works nicely in both modes, great colors.

07 Megatron looks really disappointing with his cereal box shins and his chest ripped directly from the SS RotF. At least the silver looks nice.
Shockwave looks great and I love the bits of dry brushing on him. Wheelie + Brains are also a welcome inclusion, and the paratrooper is just hilarious.
Scavenger finally has a toy that brings the design justice. A massive step up from the pitiful RotF voyager.
Mixmaster looks way better than I expected, considering what he has to form. There's probably a massive face on his arse, but it can't be much worse than how the Legends toy handled it.

To be fair, Siege Shockwave was barely a Voyager on his own.

DOTM Shockwave is at least as tall as the biggest Studio Series Voyager, has a (hopefully true) premium paintjob, and comes with bonus stuff.

I don't think there is ANYTHING that could be worse than the way the Legends toy handled it. Honestly, it looks like the cab probably turns inside out to form the head.

    Shockwave! <3

The Brains figure is neat, too. I actually kind of dug he and WHeelie. I wonder how much articulation is on the arms of Scavenger. If they made him bigger but he's still limited there it kind of misses what should have been a top priority.

To be fair, that was back in 2009 when the best thing we had for modern combining technology in the toys was still the Energon gestalt stuff, energon preceptor, and around that time Generations Centurion.

Oh boy...2 underpainted litle mini figs and a single army man with a plastic parachute. I remember when those came with army men sets in the early 90s. Yup what a great added value of around 15-18 dollars

I dunno if I'd call December 31 early, but it's a day earlier than Pulse says they'll be out, and months earlier than EE and BBTS say. I'll pre-order wherever I can get them fastest.

    That Shockwave is NUTS.

Megatron looks alright, but is something of a let down. They are reusing the front torso from the RoTF mold as others have said. Rest of the parts are new. The problem is, this really doesn\'t work. RotF Megatron was a large voyager (keeping with SS\'s focus on relative scale in robot mode). but clearly could have been a small leader. It was probably done so the launch waves could have two leaders and some voyagers, not three leaders. Having him leader meant Blackout or Grimlock came later. DotM Megatron was a leader, and pulled it off all a lot better.

2007 Movie Megatron was more \"hulking\" than the RotF and DotM designs. The thighs were shorter, arms were longer, and most postures he was in were intentionally gorilla like and hunched over.  The only time he stood upright was when he was frozen. Even when he was firing his fusion cannon, hedidn\'t stand upright fully, like a person does.

It\'s probably impossible to pull the gorilla-style posture off perfectly. ILM cheated and made parts of his body  longer and shorter as needed to look good on screen. Even the Masterpiece couldn\'t do it because of that and the backpack.

But still, this coulda been done better. He again has human proportions. It would have taken a new mold to give him the gorilla porportions and leader-class bulk, but was doable.

Would not be surprised if they eventually do a second pass on him in a future year
