Didn't see a topic on this Anyone see Sunday's episode? Am I the only one who thought the violence was a WEEEEEE bit out of control? I mean Mike Tyson vs Carol Channing made me laugh.I can't imagine what it'd be like to take a lickin' like that But man Stewie was PSY-CHOT-IC That beating he gave Brian was sadistic 1)Shoving Brian down the stairs 2)Breaking his leg with a golf club 3)Stewie shootin' both of Brian's knees 4)The HUGGIN' FLAMETHROWER,that to me was over the top.Even for a cartoon like Family Guy. I was wondering how Brian would get him back.Punchin' Stewie into that UK bus seemed anti-climatic.But it was simple and got the job done But seriously think about it for a second. What would it feel like to be on the recieving end of a beating like that?
The show felt more like they were trying to see how much they could get away with than anything else. For the rest of the show it just felt average.
I thought it was decent. I think I miss the UK bus thing. I don't remember seeing Brian get his "one hit" in during the show. American Dad was a little better.
I thought some of it was funny, but not much. Of course, after the Simpsons, I had a bad taste in my mouth. I'm sure the beating comes from some mob movie I've seen.
I hadn't seen Family Guy in a while, and that episode had me laughing so hard I had tears rolling down my face. "You shot me in both my knees, then it me on fire. Piss off." Also, the fact they did the entire "Shipoopie" number from Merideth Willson's The Music Man is pretty damn hilarious.
The music man bit was great, kept wondering just how many viewers actually knew what it was from. I'm about as big a FG fan as you can get but the rest of the episode kinda hard me struggling to laugh. Stewie being so violent wasn't a big deal, but Brian just simply taking it was too much.
To much violence? Are you crazy? It was hilarious. The episode was my second favorite this year. The first being where they had the Back to the Future reference and Peter "licking the red carpet" and Quagmire fainting. The whole Shipoopie thing had me laughing and pretty much going "WTF?" But my favorite part of the whole thing was when he first ran for the touchdown. "Okay, let's go Peter?" "Go? Okay." *Runs for touchdown while dragging Tom Brady behind him*
"Why were you going through my garbage?" "Well, when I stopped by earlier, I noticed Lois clipping her toenails, and I thought 'Oh Man, I gotta get in on that!'"
The only thing I really liked about that episode was the whole bit between Brian and Stewie... and the Mike Tyson fight, that was good too.
where's my money? classic stuff. Some people were all like 'they went too far' and crap with the Stewie-Brian thing... please, if animated violence gets you that upset get a new hobby besides watching TV.
I didn't find Stewie beating Brian terribly funny, but I'm not a huge fan of Stewie in the first place. Though the flamethrower really got me laughing because it was so random. But Brian shoving Stewie into the path of the bus at the end was totally awesome. Especially since the moment was so sudden it took my brain an extra second to process what I saw.
Nice generalization Drew, care to make any other baseless remarks? I wasn't upset when I made this thread.I just watched the recording.Thought some stuff was funny and some stuff over the top. I PERSONALLY feel the Stewie-Brian thing was a bit much. But to say I or others are upset over it is a bit of a stretch.
Okay...Stewie's demise at the end was SOOOOO worth watching Brian getting beaten, flamed, shot, etc. The delivery for that was just so perfect. I, as they say on the internet, L-O-L'ed.
The whole Peter and the Shipoopi song at the football game was incredibly silly . However, I found the two parts of Stewie beating up Brian to be quite brutal, with all the blood and sounds of pain. At those parts I just thought "Oh my god."
It wasn't directed at you it was more the people I watched it with that got upset and we're trying to tell me why i should be upset. I guess I did leave out that detail. My fault!
