I have a custom i want to do but i really dont want to paint it. if i could fade the existing color i would be happy with that. Anyone know how to fade the color of plastic? I know i could technically leave it in the sun outside or in a window and that would fade it but i would prefer a method that wouldn't take days or longer to do. I thought about using a grey rit dye but i dont know if that would work.

Pretty sure there isn't a good way to do it. Dye will only darken the color - it doesn't remove the existing color. Bleaching it on the sun will sort of work albeit very slowly as you note but it will have other effects - your plastic will yellow and degrade. Paint is your only realistic option. I suppose you could also take a mild 6 from it and cast your own parts but that presents other challenges.
