How difficult is removing the stickers found on, say, Titans Return voyagers and leaders? Is it a matter of just peeling them off and then using something like a Clorox wipe to remove residue, or do they hold on for dear life and mark up bad?

I’m looking to get a few figures from that era with stickers but I don’t want to leave them WITH said stickers (I just hate how they look)!

Whenever I'm removing stickers I give them a short blast with a hairdryer (don't melt anything!) to soften the glue. Helps with removal and residue.

You could always go for the Japanese Legends versions instead, they don't tend to use stickers.

I’ve picked up a few Legends releases, they’re great! I’ll see what I can do with light heat even if that makes me a little nervous. For the figures I have in mind it’s just much easier to get the Hasbro versions, though one in particular has no Legends version at all so I’ll be figuring it out sooner or later.

    Thanks.

You could get a bowl or cup of hot-ish water, dip a sponge in it, wring out all the extra water, and use that warm sponge to gently scrub any leftover residue away. If I remember correctly, the stickers on TR figures were notorious for peeling off on their own anyway, so you'll probably have no issues at all

The factory stickers from TR and POTP have poor adhesive to begin with, so they should peel off with minimal effort, though you might need to clean off some leftover residue. For tougher stickers that have been plastered on for 30+ years, like vintage G1, I've used warm water mixed with a dab of Dawn and scrubbed over the surfaces with a toothbrush.

Peeling the stickers off of POTP Humgrrr was pretty easy, no prep or special tools or substances or anything, just pulled them right off with my fingers. I don't think they left enough residue behind to bother worrying about, and if there was I was just gonna put toyhax stickers right back on there.

I plan to do this with other stickered figures of the era, but haven't gotten around to ordering the toyhax sets to replace those crummy factory ambominations. (too busy with sets for current figures!)

You can always use something like Goo Gone or lighter fluid to remove any leftover sticker residue, but POTP stickers were notorious for peeling off on their own.
