The right to name that kid 'Megatron'... belongs to nobody.

 

I will not support the ruining of a child's life.

 

It would very much suck to be named Megatron (unless you chose the name yourself and actually wanted it), but I have to admit I find this hilarious.

Also, even if they do by some minor miracle get a million fans, I don't believe for a second they'll go through with it.

 

Ok i have come across a case of a woman giving her son the middle name Magnus... but Megatron... that would just skrew the kid for life.

 

after we selected a really good first name, my girlfriend wanted to give our son the middle name Rupert, i wanted Megatron. clearly mine was better and would have resulted in less piss-taking.

after a long and violent struggle, we eventually agreed on Timothy.

god please dont. no mater how funny this is, think of your kid's future. the bulling he/she will get. unless you make him/her the leader of a gang, dont.

besides, isn't accusing people who want to name their children after TV characters of copying somebody else's idea a bit redundant?  

 

I'm not on facebook ( or any other social networking site) but at any rate id not sign a name like that should be the choice of the one who will bear it.

its my guess is that this is some stupid joke or the persons sister doesn't think he will get the 1,000,000 fans in time. which id be surprised if he did.

 

As bad as naming the kid Megatron sounds, it sure beats those parents who tried to name their kid 4real.

It could lead to some funny moments in a lifetime otherwise marked by mockery and humiliation.

 

My money's on a sister who was being harangued by her idiot brother until she gave him what to her seems to be an impossible-to-get number. And its funny to note that on the side there its apparent he's been disciplined by Facebook for some reason, and is reacting just like some teenagers would.  

And heck no I'm not going to support that.

Pretty much the same here. It would be awful for the child having to grow up with the name Megatron.

 

Here in Sweden where I live. Magnus is quite a common name. Which make the name Ultra Magnus sound funny to a swede (if you ignore its latin meaning).
I remember me and my childhood friend Magnus looking through a toy catalog back in the middle of the eighties and for the first time seeing Ultra Magnus, he became extatic, "Look, it's me! But I'm Ultra!".

 

I personally know a gal who named her son Krillin and her other son Tenchi, after the little bald guy in Dragonball Z, and Tenchi Muyo. Krillin's 8 now, but he's no pervert and can't throw destructo discs.....but at his christening, his uncle dotted his head...it was a gas!

But seriously, unless it's a Bad@$$ name Like Dante or Giovanni, don't name your kids after cartoon's or video games.

 

Out of curiosity, I checked to see if Bob Budiansky ever named a kid Megatron.

Nope.
