I have a question for those who are users of Facebook. I was invited to sign up for Facebook. Through the process of signing up, Facebook wanted my permission to access my e-mail account I have through yahoo. Is this a normal procedure in order to sign up for the website? I feel kind of leary about a social network site asking for my permission to access my e--mail account. What are your thoughts on this? Your input is greatly appreciated.
They accessed my MSN buddy list when I registered a month ago. It basically went through my contacts list and lifted everybody who had a Facebook account already, and suggested that I add them as buddies on FB.
It's normal. it's so you can see which of your contacts are also on Facebook etc. They supposedly don't store your contact info, and have never heard of instance to make me think otherwise, so don't worry.
Thank you both for the input. I was hesitant at first and didn't know what they're going to do with all the contact list have. I went ahead and created my account on facebook. It'll take a short time to navigate through everything on the site.
I hate Facebook, it never lets me just "do" anything, I always have to allow permissions for some garbage and I never know what's public or private. It's like a gay, apple-fied version of myspace.
Ah, the past few months I've become a Facebook whore. It's surprising how the people I end up talking to, and thinking are nice, are the people I assume are jerks at school. Wouldn't a gay version of MySpace be straight?
Did everyone log on last night and grab the username they wanted? I did <3 If you haven't, better try it before someone else gets the name you want.
jebus i forgot about that. but all good. no one thinks to take mine. plus not many people think to read backwards.
i wanted MrBrightside but someone in an earlier (or is it later?) timezone nabbed it, so i went with TheFluorescentAdolescent
