Has anyone noticed how somebody (supposedly) hacked facebook and now pop-ups for free ringtones, IQ tests, and (For Some Reason) free college tuitions are showing up on the homepage and when somebody clicks these links their facebook account gets hacked and causes people to post "I Love You, And Here's The Proof: (Web Address)" in text chat (Even When They Are Offline). I want to know if this has happened to other people besides my friends.
I haven't heard anything about this. It's possible that they picked it up from some other site and it just happens to show up on their Facebook (does it show up on other pages, or just FB?)
Just checked mine as well, nothing like you describe. If they use lots of quizes and games and apps though they could have aquired something shady through one of them (some of them are really sketchy programs). I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Maybe it's a local thing or it's from a certain person who got hacked. (Then again, my dad had the same problem)
Here's what I keep getting. And I definately know this is fake because it lists my friend Dave (Who is a total metalhead) liking Katy Perry and f**kin' Justin Beiber...
Might have something to do with this: FB News: Torrent Of Facebook Pages Downloaded By Big*Business - Failbook - Funny Facebook Status Messages ( Failbooking )
Definitely not the site, but probably more local. (Perhaps something occurring similar to this recent problem.) That's merely a collection of publicly available information and involved no "hacking" at all. If you turn off the option for your profile to be indexed in search engines, it helps prevent your information from being easily aggregated as was done with the profiles in the torrent.
Yeah, that's what I think is happening. It appears to be local (most of my Chicago friends have it but none of my outside friends) and my dad's been complaining about it since it popped up.
