As above, still a WIP - need to add more detail to the Bot Mode, and texture the damn thing, too. Also thinking about re-tooling the arms. Oh, yeah, it's also Star Scream. Alt mode: Bot Mode: C and C welcome, of course.
Updated model and transformation test Thanks for the C&C guys. Some newer pics - I added more length and poseability to the arms, and a little more detail to the robot mode. Also added landing gear and alt mode weapons. So, some updated pics and a transformation video are now at hand: Airborne, with missiles out: On the ground with landing gear out and cockpit open: Typical arrogant pose: With Energon Sword in hand: And, a link to the transformation video: Right-Clicky here to download - need the latest DivX codecs
It's really a great piece of work, the only problem is the proportions in robot mode. The head seems too small, and the arms too short. In fact, you might want to just shorten the torso, it might work to fix both of those problems. The nosecone issue might really be your only problem, but if you do it in a similar transformation style as the original, with the blue tip remaining back near the head (maybe it can slip down into his back) it'll shorten the nosecone piece, and the rest of the torso looks like it's hidden in jet mode anyways, so you can compact it. I think that'll make it look much better, and also let him do a proper smug pose.
dang dude, nice work, the others have good criticisms, but what im wondering is if it might be possible to give him a bigger sword, as currently it looks like he has an energon butterknife. Maybe pull an armada screamer and have a wing or two turn into a sword? Also, where to his vertical tailfins go? on his back?
Energon butterknife...funny stuff His verical tailfins, wings, and horizontal tail fins are all connected to the pieces that fold behind him at an angle in his bot mode. Regarding the previous comment of shortening his torso, I tried it before, and it didn't work - the legs were too long. So, instead, I stretched his arms by having them "fold up" in alt mode. I also made the head - and yes, the sword - bigger. Some new pics: - New, improved arm folding action! - - New, useful sword! No more butter carving! - Anyway, that's all the work I'm doing on this model for now. I'll probably go back to it in a few weeks/month, but I'm hankering to start work on Mr. Flashy-Noisy Ray Gun. but as always, comments and crits are welcome.
