I can't imagine this could possibly work as well as it appears to in the promotional video. If by chance it does this is going to be huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge for Sony as far as the casual market. Nintendo has a stranglehold on that right now and IF (big if) this works as advertised it is something cool and appealing to families that most importantly is not just copying an innovation Nintendo already made. Here at last is something families will want that you can emphatically say could not be done on the Wii for any number of reasons. Nintendo may start regretting soon the lack of horsepower under the Wii's hood because while early in the lifecycle the advances PS3 and 360 made were all about pleasing graphics whores, we're beginning to enter territory where those systems' power will be harnessed for innovation that the Wii won't be able to keep up with.

All that depends on it working though, which seems like it would be an enormous hurdle to overcome.

Hmm...I wonder how the creature would react if I pointed a gun at it?

    That'd be awesome. :lol

LMAO, that's hilarious. Still though, that blew my fucking mind. That was pretty badass. Setting it up on a table top and stuff won't be fun, but my kid would go insane, and I might too. That's pretty badass!

I'm gonna terrify my mother with it. just tell her that it's a camera recording the living room, and ignore any comments about a little furry monster she may make.

Hahaha, I've also been entertaining the many things I can do with this thing to freak people out, particularly because it seems to be so interactive. I really hope it comes to the States.

Wow, an insight in to your psyche I'd rather not have had.

Why do I get the feeling we'll be forwarding this to the FBI in the future?

    I'm just kidding. Jeez. :p

Anyway, Sony finally puts the Playstation Eye to some good use, other than a card game. I just hope that furry little hellspawn isn't the only Eyepet we get. I'd totally go for...oh say, an Eye-cat. Or an Eye-dog.

    Or an Eye-elephant.

or....(drum roll) and Eye-Robot, that can Transform into a vehicle and you can race around with it and fight with your own designed robot. Seriously, that little monkey looks cute and goofy, but if they can deliver on that trailer, a lot of heads are going to turn.... particularly if they can say (for example) have you draw food for it, and the food (color coded) will pop out from your image and feed the little guy. If I saw this when I was playing Raiders of the Lost Ark on my Atari in the 80s, I would have thought Star Trek.
