I love this guy, or rather the *idea* of this guy. I'm thankful he finally got an affordable toy and that I never took the plunge on the masterpiece, the former, rather than the later, being what I based this piece on.
I Imagine this as a snapshot from before the war, from the period where everyone feels that something is coming, but no one is exactly sure what that something will be. A dark cloud hangs over Cybertron as the factions begin to take shape. As an ode to his previously exclusive diaclone nature, Exhaust hasn't picked a side from the two most vocal of these groups, but finds one reaching out to him through the background noise of his life nonetheless. Will he commit to any of them?

Dang, I thought that was a panel from a comic, that looks great! I like your description too, it's ominous.

That art style is really cool. And the decepticon billboard was a nice touch

I like this a lot. Exhaust himself looks amazing, as does the background and its details. The grime in the background actually reminds me of a back alley from a Batman story. Nice work on this one!

I agree, it does look like a panel from a comic.

    HOLY SLAG THIS LOOKS AMAZING.

You got that 80s era comic book style down pat and the attention to detail with the Benday dot shading the slight stutter to the lineart that makes it looks like a slight print error- AHHHHH THIS IS SO COOL! I am legit flailing a bit in excitement seeing this, holy CRAP, I want to give you a high five or something DAMN.

I'd buy and entire run of a TF comic if it had art like this. Kei Zama would probably love it.

I was gonna say it reminded me of Marvel UK art, especially the coloring, but the linework is VERY Kei Zama, and I'm feeling it hard.

Thank you everybody for the kind words. The Kei Zama comparison is definitely appreciated. As time permits, I'm planning to make a fan comic featuring this same style. There's something about bold darks with those analog colors that just...works, even decades later.

Phenomenal piece of work. You hit that early comic book aesthetic perfectly.
