This "Evil Jazz" from the Botcon 2008 exclusive figure set. This was going to be part of a team pic, but I'm no longer going to do the team pic... after finding out today that the set is SOLD OUT. Major bummer. Oh well.
Wonderful artwork there. He does look rather crazy there. Like the "Massacre Racing" and "Kill to win"!
Great artwork but he still doesn't scream "evil" to me. It looks more like he's having fun hot-dogging around or something than being evil despite the slogans on him.
Nice pic! Does this mean that the Botcon 08 set is a good bots gone bad theme? It would certainly explain it better.
Yeah, man... I totally agree with you that the design doesn't really look evil. I tried a number of different looks, grimaces, etc. but it just kept looking like "angry Jazz". I put the tongue in there kind of jokingly, then I ended up thinking it actaully makes him look like a scumbag. On the toy, I think if they just colored the visor red it would have done the trick. It's just a subliminal thing to TF fans that red eyes=evil. If I ever get around to coloring this (or if anyone wants to give it a shot) I would make the eyes red to see if that works. Here's an idea for a more evil Jazz with the Botcon design: how about him bent over while being all dark and silhouetted while holding the head of another Transformer and/or squashing a human? As for the Transformer to die, how about an Autobot turned good, possibly that world's Mirage?
