I recently made two deals for Fanstoys Roadking and Sovereign.

The last two Masterpiece Decepticons I wanted.

    I already have:

    Megatron
    Shockwave
    Soundwave and Cassettes
    Starscream

Masterpiece Beast Wars I'm done after pre-ordering Tigatron.

    I have:

    Cheetor
    Dinobot
    Megatron
    Optimus Primal

The only other lines I collect are:

    Marvel Legends
    Mythic Legions
    Neca TMNT
    Power Rangers Lightning Collection
    Star Wars Black Series

I only want between 1-3 figures per line based on reveals.

After that it is only classic versions of Red Skull and Ultron I want from Legends.

In short it has been a interesting ride.

Stay safe and healthy my friends :)

Masterpiece here. MP-36, MP-44 and MP-45 are all I really need. The two faction leaders and my favourite character.

MP-29 is very nice to have, and I’ll probably get a v2 Soundwave and definitely v3 Starscream.

In terms of Autobots I’d like a v2 Ironhide, would probably pick up Sunstreaker if they make a v2 Sideswipe, would definitely be in for MP Jazz. A Hound reissue would be nice.

But really I don’t need anything more than those core three. Especially since they’re done at such a level for me (toon accuracy, alternate faces and articulation) that a lot of the earlier releases just don’t cut it anymore. Even MP-18+ fell short in the toon accuracy and articulation areas, and I love Bluestreak.

In my case being a snob helps save money and space :thumb

    I agree.

I've found it so much easier focusing on characters I had figures of growing up.

Instead of just buying something that peaked my interest.

Not at all. And, it’s not a bad thing. I try to enjoy what I have. I’ve already separated a lot of things to sell because they don’t really bring me much joy anymore. Once gone, those will make space for others. I hope to downsize enough so my displays look nicer, but there are also many figures that have been or will be released that I would like to own some day.

Yeah, I prioritise the "nostalgia" factor. MP-41 is one of my favourite toys ever, but I sold him because as cool as he is and as great a show as BW is, it's not what I grew up with, so it just doesn't have the same tug as G1.

MP-36+ was amazing, and while I coveted G1 Megatron so much as a kid, what I really wanted even more than that was a cartoon accurate one. MP-36 scratches the itch.

That said I'm definitely getting MP-44+ whenever that's announced, and I could see myself getting 36+ again to pair with him. But if it came down to it I think it'd still be the toon versions I'd keep over the toy ones (let's see how I actually feel when 44+ exists!).

There's just too many damn cool toys out now, and space and money is limited.

Weirdly think my collection is becoming far more eclectic since the G1 MPs have stopped being of much interest to me and BW MPs have been coming out. I feel like the G1 part of my collection can be put behind me and that I'm just about done with it, I'll no doubt just swap out characters with 3P versions in the future. Beast Wars and 3P (official or otherwise) are becoming more of a focus for me as are non-transforming and non-transformers figures. I'm not sure my collection will every be complete as I don't really have a defined end point. I am and have been for many years very much focused of the the best version of the characters I like rather than finishing any lines or show casts... I guess that will continue as an when better versions come out.

I don't know if I'd say 'complete', but my desire to chase after TF's is waning. Starting to look into 1/18 scale action figures like Acid Rain, War of Order and Vitruvian HACKS. In short it's more of a matter of 'it comes and goes' with regards to TF collecting.

Even if I bought every character I wanted, the real problem for me is getting my display together. My shelves aren't filled yet, and my collection won't feel complete until that's done.

As far as things that are currently available or on preorder, my collections are just about complete. I’m one MP-36 short of having all of the MPs I want and I have all the CHUGs I want (I think). Other than that, there are a few ML, BS, TMNT and other random figures I’m interested in, but, there’s no rush on any of it.

My collection is almost to the point where I'll just be buying a couple figures per year, but I'm currently after some very specific figures.
    I need:
Sunstreaker (don't want the ER version, thinking about getting the Classics version)
    Trailbreaker (probably the ER version)
    Snapdragon (ER version)
    Scorponok (ER version)
    Doubledealer (ER version)
    Sky Lynx (ER version)
    Wreckers:
Twin Twist/Top Spin (waiting for a good deal on the TR version)
Kup (got a bid on eBay for one w/the Igear head)
    Ironfist (no idea)
    Pyro (need the Botcon version)
Guzzle (probably going for the MMC version whenever it goes on sale)
Rack n' Ruin (no viable options available)
    Sandstorm (need the T30 figure)

Old broken figures I need to replace:
    ROTF Bludgeon
    Generations Skullgrin

    Upgrade kits:
PE Hands and feet for Superion
PE Cannons and head for Bruticus

I don't think that it's ever going to happen...

I collect robots and space ships and the likes, and TFs are just a part of it (that got much larger lately).

But I always get the figures that get my interest, I don't really care about the characters all that much, at least not like many do.

I do know that some figures are part of my "want" list, and anything else is all about me liking the figure, the design, etc.

At times I do feel like I'm on overload as the choice/selection to grab and fiddle with is freaking huge now, and sometimes I kinda miss the simpler times of having only so many... same thing with my DVD collection where I'd find it easier picking a movie from a smaller shelf than the several thousands that I have in my system now.

But at the same time, I enjoy each one, and when I get a new figure, I don't enjoy/love the old one(s) any less... I just alternate a lot more... and sometimes I'll grab one that I haven't touched in a while and go.. how they heck do I transform this guy again.. and that gives me a bit of additional fun to re-figure it out.

    At least you realised it.

My collection is far from complete. Plus I've set myself the gargantuan task of scaling everything in vehicle mode with the G1 Diaclone cars.

If vehicle scale didn't matter to me I may have completed it years ago. Third party figures like the Fansproject Stunticons and Papa Toys Hot Rod have helped along with over sized knock offs like the POTP Dinobots and the Korean KO Bruticus.

That said, since Combiner Wars started I've picked up a lot of modern updates of lesser known Transformers like Takara Legends Hardhead and the Siege Rainmakers which all fit my scale criteria and are so good anyway as to become my definitive versions of the characters.

That said, the Selects line is messing things up due to it's exclusivity and EBay prices. I'm dying to pick up Red Wing, Skywarp and the Seacons but they're rapidly achieving grail status. It's not that I can't afford them I just don't want to spend outrageous prices on mostly deluxe figures.

Still with the shutdown due to the virus, I've been revisiting my collection quite a lot and giving figures their due appreciation.

Plus the new stuff gives you something to look forward to.

    Currently, no.

But that's due to the fact that I just started collecting pretty recently. But once I get most of the G1 gang (Autobots/Decepticons alike - one of each), I'll feel done with collecting.
If I was going for legends scale, I would be done already. But MP scale calls to me and I have to wait before buying more figures.
