I went ahead and spoiled things for myself by reading that spoileriffic thread that sums up the appearances of most of the characters, and I was slightly disappointed. But I'm still going to see this movie, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be blown away anyway. That said, even if the story and usage of characters does disappoint me, there will always be the toys. What I mean is: I prefer the live-action designs over the designs of any of the cartoons. So in my own nerdy little way, I can always think of my own story - a story that does each character justice. For example: Spoiler Soundwave doesn't do much more than float above the Earth, but Hasbro went ahead and made a very cool toy for him. So I can go ahead and pretend that he is much more important than the movie makes him.
