Age of Extinction: Evasion Prime Upgrade/Addon

Note: This is still an ALPHA state. Just so happen that I am able to borrow a Makerbot and I started modelling and printing.

I love how Evasion Prime is looking, but I felt he is lacking something... so I visited the forums and saw a few members who has made effort to mod their Primes. I was touched (Stan Bush's - Touch song in the background)

so I start with the pegs for His hands, Face Mask, then a small Matrix of Leadership...

I used Kotobukiya's architect hands painted the Matrix of Leadership with Sharpie pens.

But it wasn't enough! I notice that OP is lacking that buff up look. And I started designing the shoulder pads.

It was looking great...I present...Optimus Prime!

This is what I am trying to achieve via the box art :)

Right now it is pegged on the shoulder with friction, and some paint apps may be rubbed off.

It is also in the plan of making it available via Shapeways...if it is possible and much supported.

I would like to credit the following TFW2005 members:

archieboy for the great idea of using Gundam Hands.

and len_d69 for the awesome mod on the face mask

can he still transform with the shoulder addons in place, or would he end up being a part former?

I doubt it can transform part of it as it is already so compact when transformed :(

Would have to wind up being a parts formers the space just isn't there for bulking up the arms otherwise. I've done something simular on my second one but added the g1 shape shoulders with stacks.

It will definitely be a partformer, but it can be placed as shown below just to hold the sholderpads in place. :)

and oh, there is placed for the Matrix of leadership too

I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a paint that would match the red around the faux smokestacks on each side of Optimus's head? I painted the stacks gray and they came out wonderfully. Somehow as part of the process, however, I chipped the red paint in two spots along the base of the stacks. I would like to do a quick touch up job. Any recommendations for what type and color of red paint to use would be greatly appreciated. Ideally, I would like to be able to match up the original red color as much as possible. I am fairly new to doing any paint work on a figure. Thanks in advance for any help that comes my way!

from what i can see from the storage, there could be a way to make it non-partsforming version but that would requiere quite some time to solve it
if i had the figure i would try, but as long as there is a way to store them i think its perfect

hehe I love that line of model kits. I want some of the newer ones, but they are kinda pricey and i don't have a local comic shop to ship them to
