archieboy - this thing looks amazing - nice job!

Quick question for you. What stand are you using to display this guy in his action poses? Would you recommend this stand to others? Does it have any pros or cons that I should know about? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a paint that would match the red around the faux smokestacks on each side of Optimus's head? I painted the stacks gray and they came out wonderfully. Somehow as part of the process, however, I chipped the red paint in two spots along the base of the stacks. I would like to do a quick touch up job. Any recommendations for what type and color of red paint to use would be greatly appreciated. Ideally, I would like to be able to match up the original red color as much as possible. I am fairly new to doing any paint work on a figure. Thanks in advance for any help that comes my way!

Added Reprolabels and gave him a new shotgun (which I still have to paint).

Hey! I may not be archieboy, but I recently detailed my Evasion Optimus, and the red I used was a half-and-half mix of two Testors Model-Master acrylics: Chevy Engine Red, and Guard's Red. It matches really really closely, but you may want to test it first.

I also have the same question. Which stand are you using? :)

    This looks great!
I'm going to be painting mine soon. One part I've been debating about is the things that stick out on his shoulders. I'm going to paint the parts that face out in robot mode silver, but am unsure if I want to paint the whole thing silver. But the silver looks pretty good on the steps in vehicle mode on yours. There's so much to paint I'll probably just hold off on it for at least my first go through on him, but you have me considering doing it eventually...

I was torn making the same choice you describe, and ended up leaving the shoulder-spikes red. I just posted a thread for mine, so feel free to take a look. It may help you decide which you like best :)

Very nice dude. I finally got around to watching this movie and really liked it. I don't really buy movie figures, but might have to pick this one up based on what you did to him
