90% done with vehicle mode (need to add the flames and do some touch-ups); robot mode to be completed at a later date when I redo the flames, etc. I had a lot of fun painting this one and used lots of pictures of the truck taken during filming for reference. I'm looking forward to seeing some better CGI renders of his robot mode, so I can go back and repaint him as necessary. I already painted over the Marmon logo on the front grill after noticing it was covered in the movie trailers, but clearly visible in the various set pictures. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of trying to replicate the faded paint look and am pretty happy with the result. I took a hobby blade and carved various chunks of plastic off to replicate the dents and damage throughout, such as the big dent in the passenger side tank and the large hole in the grill. After some light sanding of the surfaces, I started painting the vehicle mode and applied a light base coat of Testor's Model Masters Acryl Dark Tan over the cab section, then applied several light washes of Games Workshop Ceramite White mixed with a tiny bit of Chainmail. The stripe along the middle is just a heavier application of that same wash. There's also several light washes of black and light gray and the faded blue bits are Model Masters Acryl Arctic Blue Metallic drybrushed sporadically with a very small brush. More washes applied over that to blend it in. The silver parts of the truck and robot mode are mostly light coats of GW Chainmail over a Model Master's Flat Black base with little bits of MM Brass here and there, MM Rust, and the white/chainmail wash to take away the luster. I used various mixes of gray (GW Codex Gray based) over the silver to enhance the badly tarnished metal look and finished it off with some drybrushed rust detailing. I need to take/upload more pictures to show the rest of the robot mode. In the meantime, thanks for checking out my custom Optimus Prime.
