I repainted the really spendy black Optimus. He is still black, but I got rid of the teal. It never looked intimidating enough for a Nemesis Prime. I used a basic silver stripe instead of the teal one. I painted up Dr. Wu's triple barreled Blaster to add that extra bit of intimidation factor. And used two swords from a knock off figure.
Let me know what you think!

    The big three!

Very nice, but I think a bit of metallic teal is needed, just not the overblown effort Takara did.

Thank you! I see what you mean, adding some teal accents would make it less monochromatic looking. I just am not a big fan of teal...I can't get past that. All my Nemesis repaints have nearly all the teal painted over or removed.
But perhaps I could do some thin teal pinstripes on the edge of my silver stripe.

If you use a little teal, you could also consider matte, gloss, clear out metallic versions of purple, white and gold. Those were colours Grand Scourge had. Also, you could use shades of white - grey/black or shades of silver to gun metal? Those might also help break up the figure?

I did a flat enamel for his robot mode, then a gloss finish for his vehicle. It looks a lot better in hand than in the pictures. I like how he turned out. Although all your tips sound like they would look super cool. perhaps I'll do another with more color and with the option of also doubling as Scourge. This guy is already finished and was done as strictly Nemesis Prime.

Thank you! It was hard work, but worth it for the finished product!

I love it when people take expensive figures and don't botch the paint.
    Stunning work!
