I wanted to skew more towards the box art because I found it more interesting than straight up screen accurate.
Hand painted flames were more fun than I thought they'd be.

I love how instead of going for traditional sand look, you kick it up a notch and instead aim for box art styling and incorporating in some green. Very nice concept and absolutely awesome execution!

That thing is adorable, and the flames are astonishing.

That looks just kickass - much better than the stock colours!
Are there a lot of rubbing issues on this mold? It would make for a cool Onslaught if the alt mode had been the long-nosed cab...

that is fantastic as always, but I just can't imagine trying to transform that thing with a custom paint job. I worry about scratching up the globs of paint they have all over it as it is :lol

Heh, well they aren't "globs" so to speak. I keep my paint layers very thin which makes them much more durable. I've transformed it a few times already. One time I had the arms attached wrong so it was slightly off. plenty of parts clashing while I fooled with it and it's still just fine.

Not yours, the factory paint, the plate that becomes the upper shoulder and holds the pipes for example clearly has been coated in red paint.

Actually that does bring up an interesting question you might be able to answer for us. exactly what colors are hiding under the various oddly painted parts on that thing?

The feet, the hands, the shoulder pipe plate, the curved bars under his grill abs. I can see off the bat in robot mode.

Grey. They all cover grey. It's really weird.

Thanks! It wasn't easy but I loved doing it! I thought I'd hate it though.

Gracias. That's what I thought.. I have been considering buying a back up and having a go at the painted parts with some alcohol and seeing what I could do.
