'ello. I recently caved in and bought myself an Oculus Quest 2, and to go along with it, a copy of Superhot, the 'killer app' of VR gaming. And it is magnificent. Just... magnificent. A prefect showcase for VR in general.

However, after a few days playing, I'm starting to wonder if anything else can even approach this gem. So before I start spending money, can anyone recommend some essential VR games to play? I love the physicality of Superhot, and I have my eye on Beat Sabre, but I'd be interested in what others think on this.

    Anyway, thanks!

If you're up for something more "arcade-y" with physicality in sort of the same vein as Super Hot VR, you might try Space Pirate Trainer. I think there might be a demo for it you could try.

While I haven't gotten a VR device yet, I am really exited about it and have been following it closely. I'm not entirely sure what's available on the Quest 2, but between the Oculus Link and a third party app called SideQuest it looks like just about anything can be played on it. So here's the list of games that have caught my attention, you will have to figure out which ones are available for you.

The " I'm buying as soon as I get a headset " list

    Beat Saber
    Lone Echo
    Blasters of the Universe
    Apex Construct
    Moss
    Pixel Ripped 1989
    Pixel Ripped 1995
    Transference
    A Fisherman's Tale
    Stormland
    Audica
    Half-Life: Alyx
    Resident Evil 7
    Asgard's Wrath

The " Really cool, just not mindblowing " list

    Astro Bot Rescue Mission
    Pinball FX2
    Robo Recall
    Form
    Rez Infinite
    The Solus Project
    Space Pirate Trainer
L.A. Noir: The VR case files
    Sprint Vector
    The Wizards
    The Wizards: Dark Times
    Psychonaughts: The Rhombus of Ruin
    ViSP: Virtual Space Port
    Journey of the Gods
    Defector
    Grip: Combat Racing
    Until you Fall
    Iron Man VR
    Ghost Giant

and here are two really good sites for news and reviews for VR:

    VRFocus
    Uploadvr

Pistol Whip is sort of like the John Wick club shootout x BeatSaber

    Project Wingman
is an arcade flight game (very Ace Combat styled) that is coming out next month with full VR support.

I have an Oculus Quest 1.
For games native to the quest
    Beat Saber
    Space pirate trainer
    Echo
    Pokerstars
The Walking Dead : Sinners and Saints
    The Vader Immortal series

If you have a PC capable of VR
Half Life Alyx ( It just amazing )
    Fallout 4 VR
    Star Wars Squadrons

    Also look into sidequest
I highly recommend doing the Virtual Desktop mod for wireless PC VR if you want to do PC VR.

Half Life Alyx. Easily. The DOOM Vr title is also pretty fun.

I'd also look into watching some 360 degree videos. Most of them are movie tie-ins, nature docs, or behind the scenes stuff, but they're also mostly free and some of them are very impressive visually. There's also a few short films out there that are trying to do something more substantial, like The Invisible Man, Ashes to Ashes, and Invasion.

Thanks for the recommendations, very much appreciated!

I'm definitely going to look into that virtual desktop thingy, since Half Life Alyx is extremely well reviewed and I have a few games on steam with VR compatibility as well (Subnautica and Resi 7 spring to mind). Mind you, Subnautica was terrifying enough on a monitor, god knows what it's like in VR. Should be interesting...

Got a quest 2 a few days ago - I love beat saber. Replay value is great. I've had a PSVR for years that I have ignored thanks to the low resolution and wires - this blows it away. $300 for what this thing does is amazing, facebook crap aside. I logged in once and never noticed it again. Sidequest is where it's at for mods and free stuff.

Now I have to upgrade my PC and get into some of that sweet wireless graphically intense stuff.

Resi 7 doesn’t work. It’s a PS VR exclusive for VR. Which is stupid.
