    Bring the RAIN!!!

I love saying that when our whole team has frag launchers and we just fire them down a narrow tunnel.

OMG - 4 at once? That's not rain...thats's hellfire right there.

I wish I could get more folks to use one of those. Ever since I saw your recommendation and got a feel for it, I go for that as soon as I can. It is a fantastic weapon for Remnant, and along with the scrapmaker is a potent combo. I just wish folks would STOP opening that Overshield door!

    Nah, he's a good sport.

I feel worse than you do because he paused to send me a message and his console froze causing him to lose roughly about 35,000 points he had accumulated in 35 waves. I regretted it... I should've just died and communicated it that way so he'd keep his points.

    check your pm's..

    This map is challenging.

I have mixed feelings about how to camp out. After giving this some thought I think it would be wise to open up 3 doors (1 shy of the overshield) on the right side and to open all the doors up on the opposite side.

My reasoning behind this would be that there is much better protection in the Scrapmaker room on the right side as well as an Energon Station. In the same room. You don't have to travel far for Ammo and Healing grenades since they are in the previous room. I would strongly recommend your 4th player to have an Ammo Beacon which will bail you out of a tight situation or consider replacing Starscream with Skywarp (a cloaker is key to saving someone who is down in a tight situation). When traveling to get Ammo arrange for cover fire or move in groups of two saving your "special" to get you out of a tight spot on the way back or whatever.

I have done 16-19 waves in Remnant but its never easy because people get overly confident and come out from their posts only to get downed and watch the person who goes to rescue them get downed as well. This is where the healing grenades come into play and should be conserved because they are so costly at 800pts. You also need to have at least 2 guys with Magma Frag Launchers to rain hell on the swarms that will try to get into your room and Scrapmakers to finish them off. If you go with Demolisher have him equip a Scrapmaker, Healing Ray, and Energon grenades. His Ammo Beacon should be used when necessary since there is an Ammo station in the room in front of you.

Whenever possible any cloaker should consider traveling as far as possible to get Ammo to keep distance from you and enemies while you resupply. I would strongly recommend this tactic for cloakers since you don't want to get downed at an Ammo station and have your entire team react and disrupt their attack/defense tactics. Wait for your cloak to return and join the battle. I do this with Skywarp or Slipstream. I have grown fond of using a Photon Burst Rifle and sniping from a distance behind some of the block setups they have in there while my teammates control the traffic on the stairway. It's not always effective but it helps. You can take out a shotgunner with 4 bursts.

Shotgunners take 4 shots from the photon burst rifle to kill? I could swear it was more - of course I might be missing a bit while firing at and evading the bastards. I swear I hate them more than Titans.

Yea, you have to connect perfectly and they're done with 4 bursts. Now that I think about it I was sniping them with the scope so I take it back. It takes 4 bursts from the scope to take them out. You are probably right about it taking more bursts from the waist. I will have to test that out tonight.

    Any ideas for pulse?

What my lot usually does is open up the doors required to get to the scrapmaker room, and then camp in the overshield room, with two people battling tanks and jets, and the others up in the scrapmaker room keeping the others from getting flanked by killing anything that enters the scrapmaker room, the last thing you want to do is be surrounded by brutes in such cramped rooms. :lol

It works pretty well, and just about any set of characters will do for this strategy but it seems that if you were to be thinking strategically, you'd probably want the following:

Zeta Prime because of his ammo beacon, warcry, and tank destroying vehicle rockets.

    Arcee because she's a cloaker.

Silverbolt as a medic, he deploys shields and can fly.

Air Raid because he flies and cloaks.

Be warned, you absolutely NEED scrapmakers and at least one healer.

That's basically the only strategy. You have to hold it down in both areas. Keep healing grenades and endure...

I made to it wave 64 on Broken Hope with DELTf2k6, lilo1016 and redskin152 last night. Normally our crew would be DELTf2k6, wikkid00d, Shpankey and myself but the other two weren't online. We could have gone further if DELTf2k6's PS3 didn't crash (he was the host) and booted us out.

    Our set up was:

DELTf2k6 (Arcee with scrapmaker and magma frag launcher)
lilo1016 (Jazz with scrapmaker and neutron assault rifle)
redskin152 (Air Raid with scrapmaker and null ray)
myself (Ironhide with scrapmaker and magma frag launcher)

Basically we opened up the overshield room first by wave 5, then the bridge to the ammo room wave 6, then the scrapmaker room wave 8. We opened up the bridges to the 2500 and the 1000 point door to get the heal grenades by wave 16.

From wave 16 onwards, DELT and lilo would defend the staircase, redskin and I would take care of the bridge area and overshield room. Generally two of us would take care of the Destroyer tank/brute/titan while the other two will take care of the others.

If a group of enemies are coming out at the same time up the stairs or the overshield spawn door, we usually prioritize killing in the following order from 'must kill ASAP' to 'can be dealt with later':

Shotgunners (they will easily take off 2-3 full health blocks off your life meter with one shot. A group of shotgunners can easily shred one guy with full overshield to dying status within 2-3 shots)
Brutes (these guys usually require a group effort to kill unless you have someone with whirlwind ready to use or have frag grenades to launch behind it)
    Titans
    Tanks
    Jets/CQC Specialists
    Rocketeers
    Machine Gunners
    Spiders

Between waves, DELT and I would buy extra scrapmakers, null rays, frag launchers, heal grenades and overshields just in case for anyone who died and will respawn on the next wave. That way, the guy coming back can just go grab the all the weapons and head back to the overshield room before the wave starts. Any ion turrets or nucleon shock blasters are brought upstairs and given out to the guy who is in need of points.

the above post is just awesome.

I assume you all had communication via blueteeth ?

but even so, it is a bit wacky when for me, a noob to escalation , notices that my "team" stays together UNTIL level 8, the everyone goes off John Rambo and shite.

I'll try to follow a guy to add my firepower and what not but everything goes to shite rather quickly.

that is a crappy experience for me.

Actually, the crazy thing is that none of us play with headsets at all. We've played enough escalation together to kind of understand each other's playing tendencies, what works and what doesn't, and being just good teammates looking out for one another. For anyone joining in on our games, if we smack you with a melee and shoot at a health item or weapon, we're telling you that we are buying/giving it to you. However, if you decide to go off and be a lone wolf and not cooperate, don't expect us to help you. We'll try to save you but if you don't cooperate, then sorry can't help you.

The key thing about a good group is that each teammate really doesn't care who kills what as long as we survive the wave. You just have to give up the selfish mentality that you can kill everything by yourself and just do what's best for the team (provide cover fire, escorting injured teammates all the way to the nearest health station, spending points for weapons and health for teammates, picking up ion turrets and giving them to teammates who need the points, etc).

This is so true. I have many friends with out headsets that know exactly what to do and when to do it in Escalation. I love playing with folks like that and usually friend each one of them. We had a run today that went to hell when our team was divided. Although it was not intentional it just sort of happened and was quite unfortunate and we all wiped out because of it so I can understand your frustration apparatus... I keep forgetting to add you when I get home. LOL

Well i already told AutobotSkids i wasn't upset. Also i already told you nehushtan don't worry about it. In the end all that matters is the fun that was had.

Also i dunno like i said before the ion sentry turrets in pulse to me make things easier. Its like adding extra players for them to shoot at. But i wouldn't use them too early in the match they are expensive to keep up and once in awhile they will kill an enemy. Maybe wait till alittle before, after you open the overshield room, or whenever the energon is flowing more freely. Its awesome some enemies will just stay shooting at the turrets until you decide to attack them or they despawn. But anyway thats just my thoughts/feelings on them does need to be tested out a bit more.

If you just made an account to post that, re-read my first paragraph and troll elsewhere. The host PS3 crashed and booted everyone out before anyone realized it. If you don't believe me, go check the PS3 Escalation leaderboards and check the names and the rankings. I don't post here to troll.

Was that on the ps3 or the xbox? I have xbox, but it seems most of the people posting in this thread are on the ps3 which I don't have. I'd be down for some tfw escalation on xbl if anyone here is interested.

Friend requests sent. I'm usually online pretty late owing to my situation. I bought a house and am staying with my parents till I get it liveable so right now, the focus is entirely on the house. That usually only leaves a couple hours at night for gaming.

I was wondering, what is you guys' approach to the game?

I myself have a routine that I follow. In the early waves I mainly lonewolf and rack up as many points as I can to prepare for the later waves. I'm very conservative with points and ammo, and I only spend points if it's for health that bi badly need, or to help open a door.

By the time the Shotgunners come out to play, I switch to a more team orientated tactic. I stick near my team and hide in our designated base. I only lonewolf to revive a teammate or take down a vunerable enemy. I still try to save points if I can, but alot of times you have to spend points to rack up points.

Sometimes I get cocky and leave the group though. I one time jumped off the ammo bridge to fight a titan, and the titan won. I died inches away from the health machine, and my whole team jumped the bridge to get to me. Well, they had to open the other stairway to escape the enemies that surrounded us, but they were able to revive me. We had to flee and get back up into the base. It was horrible, and we died two waves later because of my screw up.

I'm not a bad teammate though, I spare points to those who need them, and I will try to rescue a teammate if I'm close enough to him and not surrounded.
