Better reason, they created newer, smaller, better transportable tech than the bulky energon detectors from the previous movie.

How did Bumblebee copy Stinger without scanning him? He scanned some random Camero and somehow had Stinger's exact shape. And Stinger wasn't even a Camero to begin with so why would they have the same robot shapes?

I think most of the goofs present in this movie were the result of changed/dropped plot elements, which were poorly edited to make any sense in the end.

Like Optimus' "I have new forearms now I can fly." The sword was supposed to give him his new tech, but there's no explanation of that at all in the movie.

To be fair, they CAN scan vehicles and "magically" shapeshift to copy their forms. It's not too huge of a stretch to think the sword might contain some data or something that bestows the wielder with rocket boosters.

But as was said, nothing in the movie even explained that the sword gave him the ability to fly. He just... flew off into the sunset at the end.

I noticed that even though all the toys say that he is a "Decepticon turned Autobot" you never see a faction symbol on Drift or hear it mentioned anywhere in the film... I would have loved to see a Decepticon symbol on him with scratches through it... Kind of like the ROTF Jetfire Toy...

Yeah that was the funny part to me. They all know Galvateon was there. So no one questioned him vanishing and or even thought about "hey, should we find him first before Optimus goes off on his personal holy crusade?"

The whole concept of a special metal that the Transformers are made form sorta contradicts the all-spark radiation idea of the 2007 movie, since it made normal cell phones and X-Boxes transform. Which is it? Normal materials exposed to alien energy, or special metal?

They aren't new I don't understand why people say they are they obviously took off from wherever they came from Earth to in the first movie.

The new Decepticons in ROTF also had them when they landed in the desert.

Except for the injuries clearly seen on Hound and Lockdown in this movie alone, you are correct. Ironhide also had injuries that transcanning didn't fix.

    So, not a plot hole.

Not a plot hole if they explain it in TF5.

Not a plot hole. Transformium takes the shape it is programmed to take. If you're a robot that is programmed to either be a robot or a car, then the "car mode" wouldn't be a lot of help when climbing a building.

Um, what? you mean the filmmakers? that wasn't a documentary, that was CGI. Of course they did. Or did you mean Optimus? He knew because Lockdown explained it to him.

Now I could imagine a subcommittee coming down on the government for all this 'useless tech' created, wasting billions of taxpayers dollars, when we should have just forced the Autobots to leave when we first found out they were among us.

The shot in the teaser trailer right before Prime slams Grimlock is different in the final film.

The "yell" Optimus uses as Grimlock runs into his shield in the trailer comes from a scene Prime has with Lockdown at the fake Hong Kong factory later on...

I kind of liked how they used it in the trailer with Grimlock better.

His point was that they don't even need to climb the building in Robot mode, when they can just defragment and refragment at the top of the building.

They can now pretty much teleport now by defragmentation.
Climbing that building is completely unnecessary now.
    Plothole

    Get it?

That's not what he said, though.

As a half reboot of sorts, I get the impression that plot elements from previous films don't apply anymore to the series. All that needs to be known is that there was a major battle in Chicago. I really think we should leave out the contradictory stuff from previous movies since they don't really apply here for the most part. Let's try and keep the "plot holes" within this new trilogy.

That is a big one and I hadn't thought of it yet. Which is it, Transformium or Allspark energy? I tell you what, the first movie was way better written than the crap Kruger has put out.

Ok, well it's what I'm saying. How do you explain that?
