Met him in 08 when I went to my first comic con. He had a signing booth in the upstairs area. Got to chat with him a bit. Very down to earth and a great guy with lots of stories about his work. RiP Ernest. Ill miss ya man.
Well, that's unfortunate. I loved his appearences on Spongebob. He'll be fighting EEEVIL in the sky...
This. Seriously the title should be changed to reflect his entire body of work , he won an oscar damn it , and ,mermaid man get mentioned as his note worthy role? Mr. Borgnine you will be missed.
This guy served in WW2 and played the role of Kat in All Quiet on the Western Front and he is known as the voice of Mermaid Man? Please, observe a moment of silence for a hero and an actor. Chuck
R.I.P., Mr. Borgnine. Just for him, I let out a tremendous "EEEVVVIIILLLLLL!!!!" at the top of my lungs.
Did you not get the reference to his role as Mermaid Man or were you responding to something else? I only knew him as the voice of Mermaid Man, but he's certainly an accomplished actor. He will be missed.
I mostly knew him from the All Dogs Go To Heaven stuff which I always liked, but damn. The internet says he was 95, so at least he had a damn good run.
Last weekend I was watching old Airwolf clips on youtube, and watched an interveiw of Ernest Borgnine about the show, you could tell he was just a genuinely great guy may he rest in peace.
