One of the very few things that bug me about Earthrise Prime is the "shield" on his trailer door. It's just a bad choice IMO. I'm sure I'll use the connector at some point, so I didn't want to permanantly alter anything back there, so I came up with this.
I modeled it in Sketchup. It seems like some of my measurements were a bit off, but that's all part of the process. Other measurements were dead on. When everything is fussed out, it should click in there nice and snug.
What are your thoughts? Am I on the right track?

EDIT- The final model is on Page 2, and it is available in my Shapeways shop NOW!

Excellent job! I couldn't figure out what the trailer was lacking, but I realize it needed the GO! arrow.

Masterful as always bro! You do make the most needed stuff...When Hastak drops the ball, you grab it and score.

Thanks! I might make the arrow a little bigger. What do you think?
As always you are most kind.
When I get it all worked out it will go up in my Shapeways shop.

The stock shield is unsightly and inaccurate. Can't stand looking at it. Bravo! This is perfect.

That's near perfect. I was hoping someone would do it. And the little arrow is a nice touch. I knew that trailer was missing something.

I second a Thingiverse upload! Great work like this shouldn't be restricted to Shapeway's materials.

Thank you everyone for your reactions! I'm working on refining the model now.

Thanks but not at this time.

Fold-out in what way? Do you mean a replacement for the whole door?

    Done!

Not yet, but hopefully the next draft will be :)
BTW- the original stores nicely in the trailer and looks like one of the stations from the G1 trailer!

Thanks! I was hoping people would like the arrow!

Thank you, but no plans for that yet.

    Thanks!

Here's a quick look at the new file (right) next to the first one (right). It's a little wider. The nubs that hold it in place have been moved 1mm lower. The arrow is bigger and solid, and the bolt on the outer door is bigger (not shown).

Here's another part of this project. I found a pair of Beast Machines Strika missiles in the box, and I think they look pretty good in there.

Thanks Kal! I've got the (hopefully) corrected prototype coming in the mail in a few days. I've also got a mansfield bar for the back of the trailer designed. And a few other surprises in the works.
