They cut a little bit out of the CJ death scene

 

How much? The whole thing or just the part where it shows Screamer's hand burrow into his chest?

 

They showed it going into the chest but as it pans down it cuts before you see Starscream take his hand out of CJs chest.

 

So the UK gets a slightly censored version? That sucks. But I guess it's (a lot) better than no show to watch.

Well, they can always buy the uncensored US version of Season 1 on DVD/Blu-Ray when it's released, or download the eps through the web.

Or watch them on youtube. Thank Primus today we have a lot of options.

 

Why? Are the censors pretty strict over there?

That sucks as PAL and NTSC aren't the best of friends and DVD Region 1 and DVD Region 2 aren't talking either, and then there's Blu-ray with its issues, A not liking B, meaning if folks abroad want to watch American movies they had better get region free or American machines, which means more money all around that needs to be spent

What else are they going to censor? The vehicons take alot worse than Cliffjumper.

 

It's like UK Naruto all over again, i mean why censor it if it has a later time slot i don't know.

 

Korean version also cutted that scene. Maybe US is seling censored version to other country.
In episode 2, the scene which Megatron slices Cliffjumper into two pieces was cutted, too.
No cut on episode 3(aired yesterday), though.

Wow. Alot is getting axed. No way are they going to show Raf being electricuted by dark energon. So glad we're getting the full versions in Canada and the USA.

 

Looks like the next episode is tomorrow (maybe) so we'll have to see if there's any more cuts.

 

How is TFP rated in UK? In Korea, it is 12-rated.
(Uncensored version is 7-rated in US while censored version is 12-rated here. How strange)

 

Even to this day it's stupid that you need to be in a certain region in order to play DVD's. I'm going to New York next week and i was planning on getting Season 1 of the Shout Factory Transformer Dvd's, even though i turned off the region lock on my DVD Player i don't know if it will work. They would make alot more money if they didn't have region codings for people who travel alot. 

 

I recorded it, didn't get to watch it as my parents always watch the 6 o'clock news, which I can see being a problem for other kids who want to watch it at that time slot. I still think that 6pm on a weekday is a stupid, stupid time for a new cartoon, but from what i've read about CN on this site, I can't say i'm surprised

 

Region coding for DVDs and Blu-rays is Hollywood's doing. They're trying to protect their international markets. If you went to the US, like you're planning, and bought a bunch of new DVDs which haven't yet reached your theaters Hollywood sees that as loss money--they want to double dip (they want you to watch in the theater and buy the dvd/blu-ray later).

You do know that amazon.com will ship movies to just about every country a pretty reasonable shipping price, right? I always buy DVDs and Blu-rays at Amazon.com in bulk since I don't get to go home as often as I like and my folks are terrible when it comes to purchasing movies for me to watch.

Region free players are pretty easy to come by these days. I have a pretty cheap one I picked up at Toys R Us in Japan for just under 3,000 yen and it plays EVERY movie I've put into it without issue. I don't know about your machine, but if it's relatively new, I figure the brand shouldn't matter much and it should play just fine.
