I was reading my EW and noticed Optimus Prime and read this:

Didnt know whether this belonged in news or TF Animated. I think it fits better here.

 

Hmm, assuming he's referring to ep. 4, he's obviously not seeing the plot development and character building purposes of this ep like most of us did. If he's referring to a future ep, i still don't think he sounds like he's paying much attention to the actual story and just picking on superficial points.

 

Wow. and I thought only MSN.com hired completely incompetent writers. You think they would do a little more research before giving thier so called review.

And I would give this review a D-

 

meh. he is entitled to his opinion. it isn't for everyone. but you know, i like the characters & don't agree with him at all.

EDIT: There.  Still, the fact that he compares a CARTOON to a LIVE ACTION BLOCKBUSTER is a little ******ed.

But the inventor thing? I thought Ep 5 was about Meltdown who was a former employee? Maybe he was an inventor as well.

No need to edit your post, split. I mean, seriously, creepy human inventor? We all know that the upcoming epi is about Dinobot and Prof Sumdac is the one who upgrades. Besides, Optimus sounding like a college junior? That's not a negative, he obviously knows nothing about this Animated OP.

*edit*Didn't this same guy review the movie too? Correct me, if I'm wrong but I think EW gave an equally bad review. They must have the same writers as MSN.com's.

 

Yeah. I still thought Ep 5 had Meltdown in it? and the Dinobots episode was six? (or was that the CN mix-up? I dunnuh)

 

Still makes him a *** of a writer. Stick him on a bus with a burst fuel pipe and have Bonecrusher a go at it.

I saw this in EW and thought he was reviewing "Home..." because I think the blurb mentioned that it was the "premiere", and then I saw "Home..." and Megatron is like in the whole thing.

Of course, this is Entertainment Weekly...

Also, it's weird to see so many get their ire up over some blurb in the tv listings of a magazine...

 

This could describe a number of episodes. Meltdown, the Headmaster, the Dinobots...

 

EPIC WIN!

And this is a great example of why reading reviews is a waste of time.

 

I think Foxxy love said it best:

Sounds like the standard "I vaguely remember the Transformers cartoon in the eighties and am blissfully ignorant about any other incarnations of the franchise, yet feel totally justified in judging them all by standards I just thought of one second ago." commentary constantly seen outside the fandom (and too often in) The "Maybe the movie wasn't so bad" remark appears to compound that, since the movie got equal but different commentary before it became a financial success.

Actual journalists should (in theory at least) be held to a higher standard (one I just made up a second or two ago.   )
