What ever happened to eating food, then drinking water. Water turns food into energy. Any idiot knows this right? Its human nature. We have been doing this for a while. Why energy drinks? Has our society become so concerned about speed and efficiency that we dont have time to eat food and drink water? I dont get it.
I love 'em, gotta have one when sitting down for hours working on custom TFs, keeps me focused on getting the work done - I just keeeeep going. One of my Faves is Coke's Vault but it is impossible to find now, I think it's been discontinued ... 800th post ! ! !
What ever happened to just doing a bunch of crank and spending the whole night rearranging everything in you home?
I find it odd that someone who seems to advocate drug/alcohol use would be opposed to energy drinks. P.S. Sobe in the red and black can is your new GOD.
I...agree with ebk? Sort of... I've tried a few outta curiousity, and found 'em all nasty. And they're basically just sugar water, lots of empty calories.
Yeah it is. They are basically just more drugs/chemicals/SHIT THAT MAKES YOU RUN AROUND AND GO "WOOOOOOOOOOP"!
Red Bull does nothing to me. I rarely drink them because it makes my brain feel like it's floating in ginger ale. Give me good cup of coffee any day :d
Energy drinks with their artificial stuff (exact word escapes me), and LOADS of caffeine are not healthy for you and can (and likely will) cause stomach problems as they did for me. If you want something to drink, when you have nothing to eat, do one of those Slim Quick (whatever) shakes or something else. Trust me, I know from first hand experience what those energy drinks can do and it isn't pleasant at all.
I disagree. I love the things and have been drinking them for years with no ill effects; recently I cut back to the diet versions to avoid the calories. They still work (for me at least). I know from first hand experience what those energy drinks can do and it's great, in moderation. It's too bad you had a weird medical reaction, but don't go thinking this will happen to anyone else who drinks them regularly.
caffeine actually has the opposite affect on me. It makes me tired. As a kid they gave me the "ADD" diagnosis, and before putting me on riddlin they made me drink coffee to "calm me down" before school. Coffee was nasty as shit (and still is, just the smell of coffee tto this day makes me nauseous), and I refused to drink it, so they put me on the riddlin. I dare not try these energy drinks, probably put me into a coma.
Hey, I'm just saying that the levels of caffeine that the drinks have isn't good for the stomach. What may be good for the goose, isn't always good for the gander. Apparently, I'm the gander. As long as you use moderation, you should be fine and I hope you don't have a "reaction" like I had. It sucks balls to have pain in the pit of your stomach and bent over in half in pain as a result. And want to know what is really funny? I have those caffeine pills I only took a few of, and now have near a whole bottle of them. And as for all of those other caffeine related side effects? Ah, screw 'em. I knew of the heart and blood pressure related side effects, and partially knew of the stomach ones but ignored them all as I guzzled them all down with great fervor. Ah, Rockstar Java, you will be missed. For awhile, hopefully. ADD is a real condition and one that is still misunderstood, and often still misdiagnosed. What may be diagnosed as ADD could be bi-polar disorder or one of several other conditions. Just because you react differently to a stimulant could be your metabolism and "system" in general. I've been OFFICIALLY (physician referral to psychologist to pediatric neurologist back to physician) diagnosed with ADD and have regularly been on medication on it for all of my life. I'm one of 10% of all ADD diagnosees that doesn't smoke, drink, or do drugs. Generally all ADD diagnosees have some sort of "addictive" trait. Mine is shopping and (is) was caffeine.
The others, I mean; Monster, Fuel Throttle, Rock Star ect. Anything besides Red Bull. e.e I should have elaborated.
Taurine-based energy drinks taste nasty and sometimes make me feel like crap later, but they do make me more alert and focused when I really need to be. I don't drink them except on such occasions.
I don't drink the energy drinks since they make me shake pretty bad. However, I drink Gatorade after a hard workout then I switch it up and drink water.
