A rainy day project I've had in mind for years, but just now got around to. I love the Energon Sharkticon mold, outside of Seekers it's the one mold I own 6 times now. I also have a soft spot for RID Nightcruz, one of the best repaints I know of. And the two have a lot of parallels, the head shape, the fin knees, pointed feet, chest shape, vehicle mode front end that splits for massive weaponry, even a spark chamber pointing up in vehicle mode. So... natural fit, right? EDIT: Full images now up so everyone can see my amateurish paintwork. Included are all the major details, comparisons to the other Sharkticon repaints, and to the original RID Nightcruz. I've got a full gallery up on Photobucket: http://photobucket.com/e_nightcruz
I really like this, and you're right - that mold really rocks! You should do this as well: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutor...n-sharkticon-botcon-gnaw-master-blasters.html It makes that mold just so much cooler. Also, if you're feeling frisky, you could always incorporate that huge backpack into the left hand as a weapon somehow. Great work, and it's nice to see ya posting here
Dude! That's freaking awesome! I love it! Makes me wish we had a new Universe 1.0 type repaint only line so we can get crazy homages like this!
Fun as it was to customize a toy into one of my favorite repaints, I dont think I'm going to double down on trying to physically modify it that much That said, I do have a lot of paint left over, there are a few spare toys around here and there... might not be my last one.
Very nice job, only nitpick would be you could probably have done with undercoating the figure but other than that, the concept works flawlessly, the panel lining works well and other than the undercoating the paint work looks like a good job
Actually, its not that hard, just did it to one of mine before reading this. All you have to do it knock the pin holding the backpack on out, bend the pin so you can release/ reattach the backpack, then, on the backpack, were the head goes in ship mode should friction over the left hand.
