Who cares if a red repaint of a previous mould isn't accurate because it so matters.

    There IS more than G1.

My God, I can't believe I just typed that.

That, and Classics Cliffjumper was a red repaint of Bumblebee, and based loosely on a VW.

So wait... Why did they pick the Beetle Bumblebee mold and not the Camaro Bumblebee mold for Cliffjumper again?

Welp, so much for homaging Prime Cliffjumper.

You damned pedant. They transform the same way, they have very similar head shapes and proportions, and they're the same size. They are only two different things if you're a car-nut.

Or, indeed, a G1 fan, which this new film is more inclined to be geared towards than previously.

Well, of course there is, but this film is MORE G1 then before, right?

Alas, no, except for a small part.

Well, it could always be "Volks". Personally, I would like a red/blue/white version of the deluxe mold, and a new G1 style head or two to be those characters instead.

I know 私は少し日本語を話す It was a typo B & V are next to each other on the keyboard & my finger slipped - it's new keyboard and i'm not quite used to it yet. That said if I had not done it accidentally; I might just as often have done it on purpose to differentiate the original from the Headmaster version.

Besides no one says you have to say or even spell something the way it's often stated if the way it's said doesn't make sense.
Example : "Autoropper" makes no sense where as "Auto-Trooper" does.

Mega-Alligator for example is likely intended to be Megatron-Alligator just as the other is intended to be Convoy-Bat "however" If someone wants to suggest that Mega just means power or supreme and isn't a contraction of Megatron then using the principle to apply combat-bat as a potential name is more of an amusing transliteration ; and may be one of the reasons it remains a occasional use of that name. The reason also being that until the recent comicstrip provided an excuse for them being some sort of clone - it was perhaps more pleasing to disassociate the character from "Optimus" (Or Optimus Primal aka 'Beast' Convoy) by intentionally missunderstanding the implication of the name - especially when there is 2 colour options for those toys and a possible desire to now have them be straight repaints of the same individuals.

Actually, "Convobat" can be written in Romaji a number of ways:

    - Konbobato
    - Kombobato
    - Combobat
    - etc

The Japanese sound for /n/ is interchangeable for /m/, as is /v/ for /b/. Hence, that's why the nearest station to the "Makuhari Messe" centre (where you'll often see toy, videogame, etc events held) in Chiba prefecture, is called "Kaihin Makuhari" (and often written that way, even on signs next to the station), but it's written at the station as "Kaihim Makuhari".

Yes that is a very good question - the only reason not to do that (when they have already done it a decade ago) is if they wanted to sell it as Windcharger or Tailgate or a black version of Bumblebee instead.

Likely Hasbro thought they were being "Cute".

Irrelevant, because Cliffjumper in the movie never appears on Earth, we only see him as a cameo earlier on and he is a red repaint of Bumblebee's own cybertronian model but with a Cliffjumper-esque head. Thus, as far as the movie is concerned, Cliffjumper never took a earth form, so this close-enough retool of Bee is more than serviceable compromise.

Nope. Cliffjumper was never, nor will be, a Beetle. If he never took an earth form in the film then this red version is irrelevant.

If anything, they should have used B's camero mold.

Uh, yeah? Have you somehow ignored the heaps and heaps of close-enough-but-not-quite repaints for minor characters the movie lines have been doing for years? What do you mean "irrelevant?" It's just a toy, and as far as toy facsimiles go you don't get to choose what Cliffjumper will be because you don't work in the brand, Hasbro has made straight Bee-repaints for Cliffjumpers for years, will keep doing it, and you will get to watch it keep happening.

You yourself stated the term "irrelevant".

As for your statement, you will get to watch me again state CJ is not a Beetle, and that your opinion on the matter is also, IMO, irrelevant.

Cliffjumper may not be a Beetle, but his robot mode is almost identical to Bumblebee’s, especially in this movie, thus he was given the mold that more reflected his robot mode.

On Cybertron. Not Earth. And he was given that mold because it was a lazy, cheap low hanging-fruit of a recolour. I suspect Hasbro would gladly make a remold of the bot mode over the alt mode of they could.

Regards, this is just copyright camping/brand name reuse. For me, if they release a red deluxe version, I would love to have it as "Volks".

They literally revealed this figure already. Stop pretending to be secretive with your stupid scribbles.
