While I think of it does Red Sunstreaker and Red Bumblebee have Transformers names (i.e. proper names not Cliffjumper or Sunstreaker)
Since Bumper got one eventually it seems only fair red-bee and red-streaker should too ?!

 

In for Redbee. Gonna wait a little longer and see if we get a SS Blitzwing before going in on an Igniter representation of the character first, but if we don't end up getting one, at least he'll have this over the Megatron retool in the smaller series to be represented on my shelves.

 

Sunstreaker should be Spinout.
No idea on Red Bumblebee, but yellow Cliffjumper should be Blow-Out.

Both were Bob Budiansky's original names for the characters that made it into the original Marvel Age article that announced the Transformers comic.

Huh, that Blitzwing actually looks decent, definitely better than the tank we first got.

 

OK cool - perhaps Takara might make a red MP Sunstreaker sometime and canonise the name so that would be nice to have.

I didn't know about that Blow-Out name - cool I'll try to remember that, That is really fun to finally have a name for something that I've had for so long. It's nice to see them slowly doing that with the Diaclone toys. Has anyone done a thread on this topic as now I think about it it gets me wondering about others too.

let's face it, in-universe cliffjumper probably gets called "red bumblebee" at least once a week. and red bumblebee is probably derogatorily called cliffjumper, too. or some shitty insulting version. like cliffhumper or something.

I'd say if you wanted to distinguish Blue Streak (that is Blue) from one that is shiny silver or silver (with minimal black or no black) then the Silverstreak name from Classics seems the obvious fit.

Blue Bumblebee would be Glyph I expect (Unless you mean another shade and another head type).
I also tend to think of Yellow Windcharger as Decepticharge.
I suppose I can pretend Green Bumblebee is Wasp too.
There was some skids repaints based on Movie Mudflap and skids wasn't there - I own them somewhere.
I wonder if white Astrotain deserves their own name too ?

I like that I learn new things about old toys - I didn't even know about that silver chrome Bumblebee repaint until last year.

It's fun to see them re-issue G1 Bumblebee in some form - i'd be super pleased to see someone take the extra leap and offer some other colours - the minibots are so morish.

 

Glyph is a darker shade of blue than the blue Micro Change Volkswagen Beetle. On top of that, the arms, legs and bumpers are still black like on regular Bumblebee, whereas they're all gray for Glyph. Ph, and Glyph has a yellow facemask.

Screech (red Skids) is a borderline case, he has several color differences compared to the red Diacolone version. Well, there were actually two red Diaclone versions of Skids, one had Skids's own head whereas the other one had Crosscut's head.

And since I only listed actual existing Diaclone and Micro Change color schemes, there was never a yellow Windcharger, a green Bumblebee, or a green Skids.

Anyway; I updated the list.

I wish some of these weren't obvious retools (Energon Igniters Shatter should've had the lights at least). Blitzwing looks great however.

I hope they might add non-movie characters like they did with Barricade. (or how the 2007 film had Swindle, Payload, etc.)

I think with Cliffjumper, I am going to sit and wait before I decide to make any leaps into the upcoming "Hasbroverse" version. Every version since the original has been a pass for me. And that pretty much bums me out since he is one of my favorites as an adult fan.

 

True. One of these days we’ll get a cliffjumper that’s unique from bumblebee. And all shall be right.

 

A part of me wonders if them doing that also has anything to do with us not seeing a Masterpiece version of Meister/Jazz. And looking up a few things, I am also wondering why they do not have Cliffjumper's alt-mode be a Familia 1500 XG. Or, at least, have it be just that for a Masterpiece "G-2" Cliff(jumper).

 

Where's Cliffjumper? I just see a Red Bumblebee … (After only owning the red Bumblebee back in the G1 era alongside Cliffjumper, I just can't see a red Bumblebee as anything but a red Bumblebee!)
