Encore Devastator really soured me to the Encore line

Did I buy KO of Devastator even though it says 'Takara' on the box and it looks official?

After having finally broke out my Encore 20A Devastator giftset from it sitting MISB on my shelf this morning, I learned the quality of this set is extremely subpar.

    My issues with this set:

Hook: Both of his arms popped right off when I tried to transform him from vehicle to robot. Every time I attach his arms back into his pegs, they slip right off when I try to pull his arms back out like you are supposed to transform this figure. Not only that, but when you swing his back-end and his front-end together for gestalt mode, the two pieces do not stay clipped together. Finally, Hook does not stay in the Devastator Head's slot that attaches to Long Haul. He constantly slides out. WTF!

Scavenger: One of his feet popped right off when I tried to rotate his foot around in robot mode. Also, Scavenger is extremely difficult to attach into Hook when in combined mode. I got that little jutting metal chest piece to stick into Hook, but with precise insertion (that's what she said) and a little force; this shouldn't have to happen.

Long Haul: His truck bed will not stay down when keeping him vehicle mode. I had this figure as a kid, it was never a problem like it is with this Encore Devastator. Also, with how floppy he is, when having him in gestalt mode, parts of him do not stay attached together; especially the leg piece that attaches into Scrapper and MixMaster.

Finally, Scrapper will not stay attached into the Gestalt leg joint when in Gestalt mode. He constantly pops off the brace piece.

Also, I had issues with some stickers detaching from their metallic sticky part requiring I use glue to reattach the top part of the sticker to the bottom sticky part.

Very disappointed in this set. I knew Devastator was a fragile figure back in his release of 1985, but this Encore version is garbage. Takara should be ashamed of releasing this set in this condition. Very disappointed considering how expensive he is and how hard I worked to have the money to buy it. I will stick with original G1 figures from here-on-out. Encore 20A Devastator was my first Encore figure and will be my last.

I ended up putting all of the pieces and figures back in the box and set the box back on my display shelf. This figure is too much of a hassle to play with considering how much he falls apart. Sucks. :(

I remember reading about the qc issues on Encore Devastator and Bruticus when they came out. I think some people had missing heads on Mixmaster.

Think you just got a bum set. I have the Encore 20 Devy set and its fine other than what you have to expect from the figures in terms of the limits of the design.

You know the mold has been reused quite a bit too that's what I though the issue on Bruticus was.
