Holy smokes- wonder who actually bought this: Lucky Draw - Japanese Beast Wars - Big Blue Convoy - AFA 90

 

I haven't seen a direct comparison yet. The first differences I notice are that this uses yellow instead of dull gold, bright white instead of pearl off-white, and his left arm is opaque instead of translucent.

 

The orange shoulders are also new. Comparisons at this point are a bit weird, it would be easier with official pics, but here you go.

Looking at them side by side, the new colors are amazing IMO.

 

I know for a fact that my Big Convoy is the Korean version but I can't remember if it came in the package or not. I'm going to have to dig it out to check the screws. If they're rusty, then I'll pre-order this new version.

 

And here I was just thinking "man the Encore colours look cheap compared to the original."

 

So he is 8000¥, that's confirmed now, which means the places that offer up to 30% pre-order discounts will have him for 50$ / 42€.

I think that's a fair price. Not cheap but much more reasonable than some other Encore releases.

 

I just want to know what the Blue version will cost.

 

Sadly there is no confirmation of the Blue Big Convoy being release as yet.

 

Out of all the upcoming releaaes (seige, mp, studio series, mpm), this is the release that I am actually most interested in

 

I may pick up this one, only after seeing if the QC is good and I can sell my Big Convoy locally half the price of this reissue at least.

 

The non self destructing arm is the best change to the encore.

But there is still hope.

Think about it. Why would Takara display the Lucky Draw version if they never intended to do anything with it? Plus, there is some precedence for this. In the recent E-hobby Magna Convoy comic, the blue repaint appears as the leader of the Primus Vanguard(and bitchin’ at that.)

Plus they opened the door for previously Lucky Draw items getting a slightly different look and mass releasing them like the green Unicron.

 

Exaclty. So a new Primus Vanguard in a slighlty more premium colorscheme isn’t out of the question. Thats what methinks is going to happen.

 

The original has a clear plastic arm.

 

Did it actually break at a high rate or is this the typical “clear plastic=bad” trope?

 

Looks like original has more paint apps (or at least more dynamic ones)

 

More of a joke since the joints are mostly normal plastics. It's the brown plastic that is more worrying given that was the Beast era's gold plastic.
