Final Attack: "Dis-Relive" - The strongest god-power in Destron history; he inflicts damage on the regenerative abilities of the Cybertrons' transtectors.

The Japanese character profile is really, REALLY bare-bones for Overlord, so just assume we're working with IDW Overlord in terms of personality.

Profile: Jazz would be cruising down Bourbon Street in New Orleans or be double-parked outside a cellar club in Greenwich Village soaking up the local sounds if he weren't in the middle of a war. He's a confirmed Earthen culture junkie - he can talk fluently about ballet or break-dancing (although he prefers the latter), and he's always on the lookout for more stuff to turn on to. His knowledge of Earthen ways and his easy adaptability to Earthen environments make him the indispensable right-hand man of his commander, Optimus Prime. He's often given the most dangerous assignments, and, with characteristic coolness, usually pulls them off using something out of his seemingly bottomless bag of tricks. He'd rather dazzle you with style than accomplish a mission the easy way.

Abilities: In robot mode, Jazz can use his solar-powered photon rifle with deadly accuracy up to a distance of .9 miles from target, and he can shoot it from virtually any physical position he may be in with equal effectiveness. He can also use a combination of his overhead flame-thrower (maximum range of 250 feet), full-spectrum front grill beacon and 180 dB stereo speakers to create a spectacular, disorienting light and sound show. He has been known to glide for more than 3000 feet using his rear-mounted ailerons. His biggest asset is the versatility and cleverness he possesses in using the resources at his disposal.

Weaknesses: Although Jazz's firepower and strength are weak relatives to that of some of the other Autobots, he more than compensates with his daring and skill. He's prone to be distracted from his primary assignment by Earthen behavior patterns that he finds interesting. This sometimes leads to disastrous consequences.

Jazz is like my favorite G1 Autobot. So, may he rest in peace.

Yeah, Jazz is good, but Overlord is basically indestructible, both in Super-God Masterforce and in IDW. Even though I like Jazz better, the winner of this fight would be Overlord. The only question, sadly, is in which horrific manner Jazz will meet his fate.

 

I still voted Jazz, but yeah I have to admit, he may be out of his league here. Maybe he can stand a chance if he gets on smooth with Mega before the fight.

 

Jazz is incredibly skilled, but I just don't see a way for him to win. Even if he managed to keep Giga and Mega away from their transtectors, he still has their not-even-remotely-insubstantial chokon power to deal with.

If Jazz can't prevent them from forming Overlord, then the only question is how big of a smear on the ground they turn him into.

 

Skill: 10

Jazz pulls it off by goading Overlord into a pit, and then dazes him with a light show. Some quick patchwork systems infiltration later, and Overlord’s virus protection system turns on itself, rendering him immobile and in a catatonic state.

 

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting the results to be nearly this close. Jazz is putting up one heck of a fight.

 

It's that Scatman Magic!

 

This is legit kinda a hella close match. People sorta expected Jazz to just go down like a jobber but he still knows how to kick it.

 

Of course he does. He's a legend.  

 

You have to remember skill means a hell of a lot. You might be able to punch with the force of a mountain dropping on you, or build a gun that just disintegrates any opposition, but you can't use either of those traits very well without the skill to properly apply them, can you?

I think Jazz could take it. It'd be a tough fight, but this cool cat could pull through.

 

Plus, Jazz is already proven to be quite a underdog in this match, which is making things more exciting since he's putting up such a fight so far.

 

I'm voting for Jazz, mostly because I like him more. Actually overall that's how I've been voting with these.  

 

With a score of 17-13, the winner is Jazz, in a surprise upset!
