Pretty sure the actual eyes will be painted this time.
The reason for Takara's huge chest is to emulate the cartoon, but Hasbro goes for toy accuracy and the last use of the mold was Mover so it is likely and I'm hoping that they will use this version of the mold..
I'm hoping it has the POTP chest mod.
....there's no variant here. Shuttler is literally just Blast Off's torso turned 180 degrees and the arms swapped. You could make Shuttler look like Cartoon Blast Off if you so desire.
See the pic here: Toybox Soapbox: Unite Warriors - UW-07 - Bruticus Review
Pretty certain that UW Blast Off was deliberately designed so that it could either be cartoon style or toy style depending on what you want.
I was quite happy with the Hot Spot/Inferno/Grapple 'triplets', but that POTP Inferno looks interesting. I wish Takara would remold him into Cab, though. They've already got the head.
Still, it would get better paint if that side was the intended to he the front.
I hope we get Strafe some where in this line. Imagine as topspin
I like his altmode better, the arms have a place.
Please let Hasbro Blast Off be real!
I'm in the process of painting mine, myself. Just gonna paint the entire combiner stump purple and that back half purple. Easy as hell.
Kid must have felt crushed
Well the Movor chest is roughly seventeen trillion times better.
If it is just a straight repaint of the UW version I hope someone can at least shapeways up some new feet for him because the thruster toes not only look silly in bot mode but they add way too much mass to the back of the shuttle. Though my pie in the sky dream for this Blast-off would be new feet, completely re-engineered arms that actually fold up to form the nose and maybe slightly reshaped wings. Then maybe he'd make an actually good looking shuttle.
It's a variant. Both figures were assembled and packaged in different ways at the factory. You have to dismantle Blast Off arms and put it back to have the toy chest version.
And I kinda regret getting UW Bruticus instead of waiting for Baldigus, TBH...
Either way, Shuttler leaves a place to engineer there any tabs and sockets for attaching the armor. Or they might do no remolding and use sockets already present there. Blast Off variant would require attaching bulky armor to an already bulky chest.
I just think calling it a variant is quite a stretch considering all you do is just swap arms and 99.9% of everything else is the same. The back of Blast Off (and front of Strafe and Shuttler) are all identical.
I've got all three versions of this mold and the only real variant is the Blast Off neck and the Strafe\Shuttler neck which is more secure than Blast Off's.
EDIT: I'm not saying the molds aren't variants of each other...but I think they're variants for different reasons. I just don't consider popping arms off on ball joints, swapping them, and turning the torso 180 degrees counting as a variant...
Why? I think UW Bruticus is nice. Baldigus is ok as well, so much guns and those hands and feet removes the need for PE upgrades IMO. I mean you don't have to pick one over the other, they are from 2 different series anyway right?
I have both, and love them.
This will also be the best configuration to use the Prime Master Armor.
If they do retool Blast-Off to have Prime Armor I hope it turns out better than Jazz...
I honestly wouldn't care if it combined if it hit all those notes.
If I had the money, I would have bought Baldigus even if I have little connection with RiD. It looked really good
So I’d Blast Off is sold as an exclusive I guess that means there is a greater probability that we get the TT Nosecone, Ratchet (I could see that as a regular line release), TT Strafe, and I’d love for that Walgreens Wreck-Gar rumor to turn out to be a groove or Afterburner repaint with a new Head. Any other TT molds/remolds we could see as POTP exclusives or line releases. The gimmicks are there with the combiner pegs.
Max would then go on to try to make it big in the movie industry but failed, and found himself relegated to making cheap made for tv/cable/home video religious themed movies.
Because Optimus died for our sins.
Other way around with Elita, most likely. That is Elita was designed first and then turned into Starscream, but Starscream was released first due to being more popular. It's not a definite, but it seems likely since the mold fits her better, and it fits the TR pattern for most voyagers. Plus Optimus/Motor Master in CW.
It would be most excellent if Hasbro further modified or improved the terrific Takara molds, but there's no precedent; however since the new deluxes have modified combiner connectors, there is possibility.
At first glance of the purple Blastoff pic I thought I was seeing a new torso.
