I agree, I was guessing To distributer prices, which in that case we start talking about case prices which leads to a whole different conversation.

Based off retail price. TE-01 was sold from $89-$109 (depending on where you looked) while MS was $120.

TE01 is amazing. It's design looks so simplistic, until you Transform it. Then you realize how much of a masterpiece it really is with the way they were able to pull off such a clean and tidy look.

Totally agree. The lack of upper thigh rotation still irritates me but I understand why they don't.

    Indeed!

Yea, the lack of thigh swivel is a bit of a pain. Would I have liked to have had it with one? Sure..
However for what we got and how well the thing was made, I can easily over look it. Especially given how much of an expensive P.O.S. the MP44 turned out to be.

If I would like a creepy knee fully packed with low quality and huge backpack prime, then yes.

In what sense? It has better articulation and paint thats it...far from "blowing the TE out of the water"

Don't know if this has even been mentioned, but one thing that i find inexcusable about MP-44 is hip placement from the side. They are way too forward and the problem is made worse by the backpack. TE has it just about perfect and looks great from all sides. MP-44 only looks good from the front.

Not to me. MP-44 are way behind TE-01 and Magic Square, in my opinion.

The knees are bad in MP-44 but the thigh rotation is all wrong on TE-01. So even race IMO.

What is the figure on the far right in this pic? The caption below it says "Transform Element TE-01 TE01 Masterpiece MP-10 MP10 Optimus Prime"

That's the Magic Square Light of Freedom (yes, that's really what they called it), their take on an MP Prime, stylized more as an improved MP-10 than a show-accurate Optimus.

That's the one that I have, because I really love those stockier, bulkier proportions, and the shades of blue and grey used on the legs. I'm considering picking up a TE-01 as well, just because it has some really cool and novel transformation steps.

Thanks! I think the front of hips look better on that one (Magic Square) than the TE01. The TE01 seems to have a better looking upper body/chest tho. The flap thing on front of the hips just reminds me of a loin cloth. :)
