not that I care if Unicron shows up in the movies or not, but saying anything about needing to make sense is quite a rough pill to swallow from these guys. every single thing that happens on screen is hardly explained, and is pretty much plot-convenience playhouse.

When the first three real posts in the thread is made up of pool sharks you really ought to take a good look at yourselves and wonder what compelled you to "first post" a thread with hate bombs.

Have you ever given thought to not posting?

I can't think of any way that Unicron eating a planet like he did in the cartoon won't come off looking completely ridiculous in live action. It's not like Devastator made that look all that compelling.

Optimus is in space. It shouldn't be too hard to incorporate Unicron in the vast nothingness that is space.

If they can put Jason Vorhees in space they can put Unicron in the movie. The Creators need to take all the left over bits of Cybertron and make it into Unicron to destroy Optimus and the Matrix. As they battle in spce the Autobots on earth battle Galvatron. Then Unicron enlist him to help hunt down Optimus and gives him new soldiers to command. While in space Optimus finds the Crystal Knights of Cybertron and they join him in destroying Unicron. And in the last movie he will sacrifice himself to destroy Unicron and save the univerese.

Looks like someone didn't read the article. Kruger is the one pushing for Unicron to be in the story.

No. No they did not. There are so many problems with TF1, I have no idea how those two are not reviled by this fandom more.

Kruger is the one who brought actual Transformers lore into this franchise, and the films are proof of this.

Not trying to champion Kruger as a screenwriter here, but he is miles and miles better than O&K when it comes to writing a Transformers movie.

I think Kruger's being smart about how to bring Unicron in actually. He doesn't want to have Unicron suffer the same fate as Galactus from Rise of the Silver Surfer and can you blame him for that? Not to mention that doing someone like Unicron can get VERY expensive to make.

Not only that, but from a franchise standpoint, nothing can follow Unicron. There are no more live action movies after Unicron comes into the mix (in the current franchise). We won't see him until it's decided that a film is the final film in the current live action franchise. They obviously can't say that publicly, but I guaran-damn-tee you that is the case.

I would rather not see Unicron in the live action films....at least with Bay and co. at the helm.

I liked AOE but I know there's no way they'll do him justice.

The first movie is the only one where I thought to myself "this is so stupid" while watching certain parts (particularly the whole "Sam-fleeing-Bumblebee-on-his-mother's-bike" bit). Mostly, it's the direction that makes it work.

Bob and Alex, admittedly, do have a pretty good handle on snappy dialog and character interactions which, under good direction, can make for a pretty enjoyable movie (see: the Star Trek reboot). But their plots never hold up, and they always need a character to explain the backstory because it's NEVER integrated into the actual story of the film. The first TF movie is no different and ROTF literally borrows the same plot structure from Star Trek, it just integrates the Transformers story elements in place of Star Trek's. I see very little of Kruger's influence in the final product, at least when compared to DOTM or AOE.

At the very least Kruger is no worse than Bob and Alex. If he deserves to be reviled for his writing on these movies, then so do they.

Exactly, if they do Unicron, there is no going back. You can't top that following with a normal Transformers film in this current franchise. I'm all for bringing him in, it just has to be right, all the cards on the table. You're talking the spaceship scene from AOE where they board Lockdown's ship but on a larger scale. That is a whole movie in itself almost.

Side note: I'm not happy knowing Bob Orci is directing the next Trek film. He has never directed anything.

The psychosis being displayed in some of these movie threads is shocking.

Save Unicron for the reboot. Kruger and Bay might just turn Unicron into a black hole or smoke monster.

I'll give him a fair shot at the director's gig, I just don't want either of them writing the movie. ;)

As if they need Unicron to make sense in a Bayformer film.

    What next?

Adam Sandler ruling out stupid scripts....?
