This is the new Kenner Boba Fett Blaster with only a few minor modifications and a paint job. This thing is awesome! If it's not full size, it's dang near. After doing some research, I've found that this is built after the Return of the Jedi version of the gun. The Empire Strikes Back version has a plainer barrel and some extra bits stuck to the sides. It won't satisfy screen-accuracy purists, but it's a dang fine toy gun. I filled in the screw holes, where appropriate, with putty and scraped and sanded off the warnings and brand stamps. I'm looking for a good jewel to put into the emitter diffuse the light more. The one in there is a little odd. The light still comes out the slots in the sides of the gun when fired, and it makes a satisfying blast sound. There's no delay or variation in the sound either, so you can rapid fire it to your heart's content. This one's headed for ebay after I've had my fun with it.
Almost forgot the other side. This is the side that I did all the screw hole filling on, including two that went right thorough the ribs on the barrel. I was surprised that the big break in the ribs is accurate to the movie prop. That's where I had to scrape off a whole paragraph of text about FCC regulations and safety precautions. The big phillips heads you see on the scope are part of the sculpt.
I do need a Fett Helmet, but then I'd want the shoulder pads, then the jumpsuit and the kneepads and before you know it, I'm in full drag and I'm in for a couple grand. It's not that I don't want to be in the 501st legion, I just can't afford it.
Dude, I bought the new Electronic Boba Fett Helmet from Target the other day, and it is totally bad ass!!! You HAVE to get it to go with the Rifle! Which is cool, 'cause now I have to go buy the rifle to go with the helmet!
"My Backpack's got Jets... ...I'm Boba the Fett... ...I Bountyhunt for Jabba Hutt... ...To Finance my Vett." Had to go there...nice work here Mr. Servo!!!
"Yo! MC Chris is in da HOOOOOOOSE!" Thanks for the kind words everyone! That helmet is indeed awesome. I didn't see that when I was there. I'll keep my scanner peeled for it. The big visor gives it sort of an SD look. Very cool. And it's electronic, you say?
Totally...there's 4 buttons on the side and each one has a different Fett quote...then, when you flip down the little sensor on the head it makes all kinds of different "scanning" sounds, not to mention there are two red LED's on the sensor that light up when it is flipped down. Oh, and once the sensor is flipped down, all of the phrases attached to the 4 buttons change...I never knew Fett was so talkative!
You'd have to replace the visor for it to be accurate, figured since I've talked to Tom about this, here is a pic of my scratch built Fett bucket: Comparison with the old Don Post Fett bucket: I actually plan on buying the Fett blaster, gonna cut it apart and buy the accurate greeblies to make a truly accurate ESB Blaster.
You mean...like this... Sorry, I had to! Yes, that is me in the Boba. I bought the toy blaster too, I love it. I wanna somehow integrate it into my prop one. But yeah, that is definately an awesome paint and weathering job ya did there!
I like how the only person not participating in the "gun slinging" in that picture is the kid Also, this gun is awesome Tom, really well done
Steelieboy- Awesome! Spoiler- Double awesome! How much of that is bought and how much is made/ modded? WhistyTango- Thanks! Overhaulimus- Top notch work as always. I've admired that helmet in your other threads. You prefer the ESB version? I think that the ROJ look is a lot cooler, but I can see how one might prefer to be the victorious bad ass Fett of Empire' as opposed to the Sarlac food Fett of 'Jedi.
A lot of the stuff I had to put together, paint to match all the appropriate damage and whatnot. Jumpsuit is modded with pockets, outer sleeves. Most of the pieces are fiberglass. That helmet pictured, I have 2, I had a pro painter do, while the other helmet I painted myself. The boots are made by a company who does replica boots. The blaster was resin casted off of the actual submarine flare gun, was casted in individual pieces, that I had to put together. Lots of hard work and money, well paid off. Also, I do have a nice voice amp, and I can do the voice perfect.
