    Hi Everyone,

So I'm a HUGE Hegemon fan...I mean here we are with basically the best rendition of Megatron since, well...the cartoon!

But being a fussy person, I couldn't help but be interested in the BACKs of his legs, noting that many people were painting the clear red on the legs just to make the blend better.

I was reluctant to paint, and more importantly, wanted those cool ankle cuffs he has in the cartoon. Shapeways to the rescue! After a little modelling and some prototypes...BLAMMO...a more 'toon-accurate Megatron without painting the original figure.

    Okay, now onto the pics:

Here's the CAD. One part fits either leg!

Although not a key feature, you can stow the leg covers on the extension so they won't be lost in alt-mode...either on the main arm or the stabilizers, your choice. Because of the posts, they end up assymetrical...

    And there you have it.

    All the best!

Heck I will buy, I agree That this looks a whole lot better and more like the cartoon. If people are going to be buying this you should probably let them know what material works best and what paint you used, it looks like you matched the black and silver really well. Also for your leg pieces can it fit in alt mode or are they any plans for it in alt mode?

Now as for the hercules I am gonna buy a set for the thighs soon any plans coming up for the tfc uranus.

oh wow, it will make the 99% perfect Hegemon 100% perfect. It rounds off the legs so they are not so straight and fills in the hole. It would be even better if it connected to the stock but I can live with that. Please make it available.

I´m very interested, it looks perfect. If it´s possible put the polished option, I have the Hercules set and you must to sand it a lot and you can lost details.

Great guys, glad you like them. Thanks for all the feedback!

I have posted a couple of pictures of the parts attached to the stock, for those that don't want to loose the parts in alt-mode. Note that because of the pegs on Hegemon, they end up assymetrical on the stock (it's not horrible, but it's not ideal, either)

The parts are up for sale! I've added a link..(main page)

Yeah, making it work into the transformation wasn't a goal, but they at least attach to the stock (or any other 5mm peg or 5mm hole)

I've posted detailed instructions for painting on Shapeways including the paints.

I will likely do parts for TFC Uranus, hopefully the chest sheild, but it will be a ways off because I'll need the figure in hand to measure and design the new parts. In the meantime stay tuned, I've got lots more projects on the way for Herc and others. :)

Hmm...will consider this. I'm not familiar with the toy so I'll need to take a look.

Yes, I put up the polished version! Note that there still might be a bit of stepping but it's way easier to sand out then standard grade. Also note that polished can be tighter than standard, so I updated the peg design to help any fit issues.

    Thanks again guys!

    Oooh. Oooh.....

Now, if only you Shapeways folks (or a 3rd party reading this) could make a G1 accurate silencer and stock kit, so the extra pieces actually DO something. That's the one thing about Hegemon that I don't particularly care for.

Hello, thanks to Echo for parts. With them, articulated hands and a bit of painting so as is my Hegemon.

Thank´s, I forgot to tell that the shapeways polissed version is a lot better than the regular one.
