I've ordered some Hasbro Asia stuff from China before with no problem.

There are other toylines for which a China seller is a big no-no, because that basically means it's a knock-off.

I'm looking at some of Takara's Legends stuff on ebay and I'm seeing a lot of China sellers. I'm wondering if these are legit. Why is so much TakaraTomy stuff coming out of China and not Japan? And there are a few items out of package, in plastic bags. That seems fishy. Am I worrying too much?

I don't think your worrying too much. If you have any questions, it's good to get some info before making any kind of purchase. :)

From what I have heard, some of those loose bagged ones might be factory samples that made their way out the backdoor and that quality could be good or might be a factory reject and the quality might be all over the place. I have nothing nor any experience to validate this but it's what I have heard some other people in the past say.

If you are thinking about buying from someone specific on eBay, the first thing I'd do is check their feedback. If they are selling stock that is not on the up and up, I would hope that plenty of people have left negative feedback stating that fact. Plus if you buy from eBay and use PayPal, you are double protected by their buyer guarantees so if something is wrong, they will both have your back. Also, it's sometimes good to listen to that little voice in the back of your head. If you see something and have any kind of suspicions about it, might be better to just move on.

Being in a bag doesn't mean they're knock offs or rejects. They could have been made from excess parts after a production run. Or they're from a case that got wrecked some how and what you're seeing is the figures that were intact enough to resell or were cobbled together to get them sales worthy.

Also keep in mind Hasbro Asia sells both Takara and Hasbro figures.

Sometimes they take them out of the package and bag them so it cuts the shipping cost a lot.

This. I've noticed a lot of sellers that are offering the loose TT legends figures, also include free shipping. I bought a TT Legends Hardhead loose/complete and I've got no problems with it.

I've ordered stuff that's cheap and doesn't specify if it's a KO or not. And I got a KO. Haha. The one I got was a Black Series Protorype Boba Fett. You literally can't tell the difference at first glance. Then you see it... 2 left shins. Very limited T-joint hips. Bad neck articulation. But it was only 12 bucks. I kinda seen it coming
