eBay shipping rant

    I hope you will indulge me this rant -

    Anyway - am I the only one who despises it when sellers use "shipping partner" services like Fedex Smartpost for things that would qualify for 1st class mail? How much money does it save them, really? It takes twice as long, at least.

    Yup. Or when you drop a lot of money on something from Japan and the asshole sends it economy. Gee thanks buddy. :thumb  Cheap ass, standard isn't even much more.

    I don't use Ebay but i use Amazon alot and there alot of sellers that use the same damned trick. Though to be fair Amazon keeps a much tighter grip on what can be charged for shipping.

    I have had the opposite problem. Most of the time I don't mind waiting for something so long as it gets there in the end, but in too many cases the shipping charges have been absolutely ridiculous. It really puts me off the whole thing when I'm paying more to ship an item than the item was ever worth.

    I'm just curious how much they save. Although I can see how if you are selling movies or CD's Free Ship under $10 you need to do whatever you can to increase the net.
